Battletoads is by far the hardest game I've ever played, that game is just unforgiving. I can't even beat it using game genie with unlimited lives. Top Gun is hard not because it's difficult, but because it's broken. You only really die in that game when you have to land or refuel.
Ghosts and Goblins is hard but manageable with the dagger.
The first Turtles game is a nightmare too. I beat that game but fugg it was rough.
Blaster Master wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to play the whole damn thing in one sitting. No password or save features is bulls**t. Cool game though.

I remember playing blaster master with my friend for hours. We actually made it to the last boss and paused it to take a break / cerebrate. He picks up my wiffle ball bat and starts swinging it around like a mad man motherfugger hit the reset button with the bat. all that hard work for nothing. I will never forget that lol

That is exactly the problem with blaster master!, and what makes it worse is that it isn't exactly a 15 minute timed rip through some levels. Plus with the limited continues, you need to "warm up", then start over for real. Still a really great game imo.

No Dragon Warrior 1-3 rpg love? A metallic slime ftw! Dragon Warrior 4 was released on NES too. I remember getting Dragon Warrior for free by subscribing to Nintendo Power. The first game was good but 2 was much better. I never got to play 3 or 4, although I did order 3 through a game magazine back in the day and they never sent the damn game. They just took my money order and sent nothing. Nothing I could do about it....lesson learned. There was a dragon warrior IV? damm. Loved the first two. Never did get the 3rd or the 4th as i just learned also exists. So many good games left to buy.

Glad to see so many gamers here. I modded an older model PSP and now emulate all the NES, SNES, GEN, TG 16, Neo Geo etc games. It is collecting dust right now though. Been playing nothing but PS3. Not even gonna touch the PS4 for a few years. I got PS1, PS2, PS3, 3DS, GBA, and PSP.Would love to get a few arcade machines in the future too. Ir you guys are looking for bargains, or want to find rarer games, systems, accessories etc, check out a site called gametz.com . It is a trading site for everything videogames, plus people trade/sell movies, music, books etc. I've been on the site 7 years and have over 400 transactions. If you guys sign up search for me Pyramid_Party and I will help you get acquainted with the site and show you the ropes. Also, just a warning, there is a small crowd of jackasses on the site who hang out in the "General forum" of the site. Don't take any of their s**t serious. The site owner is lax on moderation so just go with the flow.

I'm a huge NES fan! I been hitting up flee markets and yard sales for the past 3 years hunting them. I collect all retro but mainly focus on NES and SNES. I just passed 300 nes games. Here is a pic of my bookcase. photo by Strictlygpk, on Flickr Dude.. is that a Garbage Pail Kids Nintendo game I see? Front left stack, right under Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, with the pink label? What game is that man? Sure looks a lot like Nasty Nick on the front of it.

All is not necessarily lost though - I graduated earlier this year with a Bachelor's in Game and Simulation Programming, and have worked on several video game projects. If we have some good 2d/3d graphic artists here and some people good with music, we can make our own GPK game. It would take some time, depending on the level of quality, but I think it would be a ton of fun. What would be even cooler is if we could get licensed or work some kind of deal with Topps somehow and release it on Xbox Live, PSN, Steam, etc.

I've been a huge fan on Blaster Master my whole life. I've always wanted a Sophia III toy, but one was never made, so I made my own~! Collabed with my bud Sanjeev, who CAD'd this up for me off my design. Casting these in rubber. What, no spring loaded hatch to accidentally jettison Jason at random . That's a really awesome toy!, love it!

Just saw this thread and thought I could chime in a little. I've got an original NES with over 100 games. I've got a Wii with Homebrew channel too but nothing beats playing Contra on the console! My NES is in my son's room so he has grown up loving and playing the classics.

I recently completed the black box collection. Last one I needed was Donkey Kong Jr. I'm trying to get manuals for each game but they've gotten crazy expensive, esp for the rare games like Stack-Up & Donkey Kong Jr. Math which are around $80 each! I'm hoping I get lucky and find them at a flea market for cheap ;-). Maybe one day I'll have them all CIB but for now I'm just going for the loose games + manuals. Here's a pic of the black box collection (all 33 plus Super Mario/Duck Hunt): Happy NES 30th anniversary! :-)

Thanks, Cory! :-)
I went to a used book store last night and ended up finding Mega Man 6 at a decent price, along with Ren & Stimpy - Buckaroos for NES. Then at a Trade-It! right next door found a copy of 10-Yard Fight for 3 bucks. Couldn't pass it up for that cheap. I'm such a sucker for sprite-art ;-)
Let me know if u need any black box games. I have a few common doubles I'd sell for cheap.

I just buy games I like to play. Also, I don't know about you, but I won't buy a game if the cartridge is in bad shape. If it has any blemishes on it, I pass and wait for a better copy. I hate when I find games with fugged stickers, or the cart is discolored or there is marker on them.

The copy of 6 I picked up had initials in what looked like white-out on the front which almost deterred me from buying it. Been dousing it with Goo-Gone and using a bit of elbow grease to remove it all. Almost fully removed now! The biggest deterrent for me is if the label is ripped or loose. Yeah, those old Blockbuster Video stickers are hell to remove haha
