Even with shitty games it's still nice to see all the front and back images, 95% of the people around here didn't have ANY cases or manuals when I was a kid, you'd see them in the store and when you got them as a present... then they all just go missing like that one sock after washing your clothes.
All the art on front/back/manuals is just nice to see, maybe not so much to store them all physically though. The actual Mega Man guy is always funny to see.

My SNES games are mostly all CIB, but I don't think I have any boxes for the NES games. I too got Nintendo Power and got Dragon Warrior 1 for free. I was grounded at the time, so I read the manual and the magazine and maps included before I could play it. I still have most of the magazines and games of my youth. I think I have lost a few things (original game boy & games, Atari 2600 & games) to my niece and nephew over the years, but they got to enjoy them at the time at least! Makes me want to go find my NES games, but I don't think I can be bothered to go move boxes to find them

This is an awesome pic. The glare is really cool. The Zelda gold carts are some of my favorite things to come from the NES. Not only were the games awesome but that shiny gold cart just popped. I was so disappointed when Nintendo didn't use the same shiny gold appearance for the SNES and N64 Zelda's. The gold they used for OOT was dull and brownish....not cool.

Not NES but does anyone remember these?? Just picked one up with 12 games off Craigslist. I don't even know what that is. I never really played anything pre-NES. I mean, I played around with Atari and some other things a few times but they weren't really cool. I can see why the industry damn near ceased to exist. Games SUCKED for the most part pre-NES. I also didn't play much with the other consoles that came out while the NES was dominating. Sega Master System and other systems just weren't that good. I had friends that had them and we all hated them and played the NES instead. I remember that one that had the controller with like 16 buttons and you had to put a card over the buttons to know what to do. Who the fugg thought that was a good idea? Once 16-bit rolled around I started to expand my horizions. I still stayed away from Turbo Grafix though. Then skipped stuff like the NEO Geo, Atari Jaguar and Sega Saturn. The stuff you knew was going to fail.

Fugg that. I did buy the Sega CD but that thing sucked so bad that I skipped the 32X and just traded all of my Sega stuff in for a SNES. I held off on the SNES until Nintendo relaxed their censorship BS. When Mortal Kombat 2 came out I switched over to the better system. MK1 on the SNES was garbage.

I never had anything except NES and SNES. I think when I was in about 8th grade I found an ad in the newspaper for a guy selling an SNES game "copier." I convinced my dad to let me buy it. I think it was like $150. It was so awesome. I could rent SNES games and then copy them onto 3.5" discs. Some games like Donkey Kong Country took two discs. I had so many SNES games.

I rented that game on Gameboy back in the day when malls used to have gaming rental shops. Fantastic platformer with memorable music. Never played the NES version. Though I just might do so now on my phone.

I saw all of the logos on the last screen of that trailer. No PC though. I don't know about you guys but I had a big ass s**t eating grin on my face through the majority of that trailer. I wish GPK could get that kind of reaction out of me.

what came out first: Zelda 2 or Castevania 2? I believe they both came out the same year. I'm not saying it's THE pioneer of RPG elements, just that it was ahead of it's time for the series and the action genre. Zelda and castlevania were in different genres too I loved both games. I broke AT LEAST 4 controllers playing Zelda 2, I used to have some emotional issues as a child, lol! I traded GPKs and Transformers and skateboard parts to my friends for their extra NES controller. Everyone in my neighborhood had only one controller by the time I was in 8th grade, lol!

I was in 2nd & Charles yesterday and was in their gaming section and they have a bunch of NES! I fought the urge not to buy any! Ice Hockey for ONE DOLLAR?? Faxanadu for 3? geez.... increased heart rate, nervously looking around for predatory collectors nearby, checking my wallet for cash.... I didn't buy them...yet.

I have a butt load of NES carts loose and in original boxes. I have a massive video game collection so if any one is willing to trade GPK's for videogames, let me know what you are looking for and I am sure we can work something out.
