I just got back from seeing it and must admit that I thought it was fantastic and I wasn't bored at all. My only complaint would be I hated Bane's voice and you already know I despise Batman's voice. When they had dialogue together it was absolutely ridiculous and hilarious how stupid they both sounded. Catwoman stoled the show to me! I'll have to give the other two a chance sometime since I liked this one so much. I've only seen them once. I will give this a 4. It would be a five if their voices didn't sound so dumb. I find it really distracting. I thought Bale dialed back the Batman voice a little in 3. I had trouble understanding Bane in some scenes, he sounds like Sean Connery from the SNL Jepoardy skits. Catwoman was great.

i know that we currently have a thread for movies i didn't feel like using a thread that's been dead for 6 months and filled movies that have been out of the theater in some cases for over a year. so i purpose every 6 months we move the movie thread into the graveyard and start a new one so we can get a fresh start to discuss movies that are currently in the theater and upcoming movies within the next year. i don't want the star wars bashing going on for two damn years before the movie gets released. also i will be starting a thread that deals with current dvd/blu-ray/digital copy releases where we can give reviews of those recent releases so please post those there.thanks.

First on the chopping block is This is 40. i will usally go out of my way to see a judd apatow movie or tv show because i am a fan of quote on quote potty humor. with that being said this was a experience i could have lived without, apart from the occasionally good one liners delivered from Charlyne Yi, Albert Brooks and Annie Mumolo the main actor and actress Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann delivered a yawn inspiring time. The only time they delivered any great laughs was when Paul Rudd delivered some haymaker one liners to Melissa McCarthy reminicent of the you know how i know your gay seen from 40 year old virgin and when Leslie Mann threatend McCarthy's characters son in the movie a few scene's before that. Too me it seems like this was a vehicle for Leslie Mann ( Judd Apatow's wife.) to show her "assets" at age 40 and for his two daughters who play Rudd and Mann's daughters in the film to get further exposer in hollyweird. I can't say that i truly disliked this film there were some good moments but when this is considered the pseudo sequel to knocked up you would expect more humor and at least a cameo from seth rogen who is only mentioned in passing as the couple eat some pot laced cookies he gave them at christmas. all in all i would rate this a 6.5 out of 10 and if you like Megan Fox she does have a few good scenes with with Leslie Mann and one with Jason Segal and Chris O'Dowd.

Saw Iron Man 3 last night and it was pretty awesome. Incredible FX and cool story. It's definitely worth seeing in the theater and is much better than Iron Man 2. The Mardarin is a much better villan than Whiplash and Hammer were.

I watched the movie '42' last night and was blown away how great and movie it was and how emotional it was. Jackie Robinson really went out there to change things in baseball for black players

Why? I hated the Evil Dead remake A remake that didn't need making and an Evil Dead with no Bruce Campbell. If I'd never watched the original then it might have been enjoyable but like all the other franchise remakes of late it was again a poor unneeded remake.

The Mardarin is a much better villan than Whiplash and Hammer were. I finally saw it better than 2 but no where near number 1. I really enjoyed the web of meetings they strung together to bring it full circle and Ben Kingsley was awesome in his role as the "Mandrin". Don't care for the potential franchise closing moment though.

I saw four movies this weekend and i'll do seperate posts for each review to make it easy on everyone so i can shoot acid at the ones i hate and not hit the good ones.
1. This is the end
This should have been the end while it had it's moments i did not enjoy this it made me hate seth rogen more then i did before with his bs over acting and his attempts at being funny. Jonah Hill i used to like you but the version of youself sucked ass! The only funny scene you had was when the demon raped you! Craig Robinson, Jay Burchael, James Franco and Danny McBride kicked ass in it but not enough to save it from frustating boredom while it had some good moments like rhianna dying and Michael Cera getting a two girl rusty trombone and acting like nothings going on to Danny McBride's scenes all of them every last one the best is when Channing Tatum is his gimp and they're cannibals and kill franco. But the major flaw of this whole movie is when they go to heaven and fugging back sync or which ever one didn't have Timberlake is playing some song of theirs and dancing everyones partying with them and dancing. Now i am by no means into religion but i have to say if that's heaven i've made the right choice even if it is a movie! I give this movie the middle finger salute!

2. Man of Steel
WTF! Why in the fug do you try to retcon shiz that shouldn't ever happen Lois Lane figures out Clark Kent is superman and it's cool? Look Lois isn't that could of a reporter and where the hell is Jimmy Olsen in it they have some old balding white guy in there instead! Sorry for the tangent but other than that i really enjoyed this movie the acting was really good it was visually stunning a nice little gap filler at the beginning with what Clark was doing for jobs and shiz before Zod came back. It was really well done Henry Cavhill is good Superman and surprisingly Russell Crowe was a good Jor-el and Kevin Costner a good Jonathan Kent. Is it creepy i still wanted to marry Diane Lane even when they made her up to be older for the later scenes? Probably not. Zod was great and the guy who played him Michael Shannon is such a great actor i've liked him since he turned out B. Rabbits mom in 8 Mile. But isn't it time for a new villan for superman enough luther and zod. I will defintely be adding this to me movie collection. I give it the thumbs up up and away.

3. The Heat
I had no choice Megan wanted to see it and i wanted to see Sandra Bullock. Sadly I think Sandra has finally hit that point where she is back sliding on looks she's still beautiful but the hotness is going away. Melissa McCarthy while i thought you were they only saving grace in bridesmaids which is weird for a movie staring Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and hot twosome of Rose Bryne and Ellie Kemper i think you need to stick to Tv with Mike and Molly. Alot of this movie falls flat and the best parts are in the trailer they used watered down versions in the movie. The best part of this whole movie is Melissa McCarthy's family in it they were funny as hell it was like a amped up version of Southie Rules! Michael Rappaport, Jane Curtain, Bill Burr and Nathan Corddry all of which are fanatastic comedians and need to be in more movies. The problem is there aren't any real standout moments for either main actress alot of the same old same old just watered doen moments of their other characters like miss conginenlty and the bridesmaids. i give this a so so if you must and have no choice.

4. The internship
The frat pack is back this might be one of the best movies i've seen Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson kill it in this movie it's not overly funny but the story is so good! two watch sales men lose their jobs cheat there way into a google internship and tag a group of outsiders and turn them into a tight knit group getting past their short comings and teaching them how to live. everything about this was so well done i strongly advise everyone watch this it's very good. I'm hiring these guys!

If I'd never watched the original then it might have been enjoyable but like all the other franchise remakes of late it was again a poor unneeded remake. I completely agree i won't watch it either I refer to it as my NO CAMPBELL, NO GO! I won't give it the time of day if it was on fire i wouldn't pee on it to put it out! On a lighter note we will be getting a Evil Dead 4 Starring Michigan's own Badazz Bruce Campbell hopefully soon as the local rumor mill spins. It's well known that Sam Raimi Had a stipulation in the contract that we would be allowed to continue the Evil Dead series with Bruce Campbell starting with number 4 and the two will run seperatly but based around the same premise. So in Ash we trust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Charlie Hunnam I guess you could say has come a long way since playing Pete Dunham in Green Street Hooligans, to Jax Teller, and to the future as Christian Grey....

insert code here Sadly movies these days aren't quite what they used to be. I find myself enjoying movies like toy story 3 and despicable me more. Not sure if it's a lack of humor or a repeat of the same tired concepts, but most movies these days just don't seem to have much effort behind it. I can honestly say that i'm more impressed with what comes out in europe. There's not a lot of flash or glory, but the plot, dialogue and story in general are usually solid and you always walk away with it questioning what you saw. I haven't seen that in a long time here in the states.
I'll take 80's movies, as cheezy as they are, without all the special effects anyday over today's hollywood glitz and glamour.
