Anyone going to see Neighbors this weekend? s**t looks really funny. I saw Spiderman 2 last weekend and I loved it. It's been getting extremely mixed reviews though. I really wanted to like Amazing Spider-man 2, as I thought the first one was pretty good, especially the handling of Spider-man and Andrew Garfield's performance, but I was disappointed by it. I think there were too many villains, and Electro was really lame to me in his dialogue, origin, and motivation. He reminded me of the Riddler in Batman Forever. Green Goblin was better, but I feel like it would have been better if Electro was cut out, and more time was spent on Harry and Peter. Rhino was fine as just being a small part. Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy were the best part of the movie for me. Also the "Roosevelt" part was really silly I thought. I'm not completely turned off from seeing future movies, but it didn't come close to the first Spider-man 2 imo, even though Tobey Maguire is a weaker Spider-man to me.

I liked the moments of campiness/cheese. It felt like a movie with moments of bonafide comic book storytelling, but it wasn't 100% cheese like the early Batman movies. Overall I thought it was the best Spider-Man movie to date and the 4 guys I went with thought the same. I can understand how someone might not get into it. Especially if they are looking for something along the lines of Batman Begins or most of the Disney Marvel movies. I also loved Iron Man 3, which most people hated. I loved that the movie was mostly Tony Stark out of the armor and the Mandarin move was so ballsy. If you haven't watched the Marvel One-Shot of Trevor Slattery you need to see it. It's an awesome follow-up to Iron Man 3.

I think both are a waste of money and ruin the experience. If you are a huge Spiderman fan you should see it in the theater, if not you probably won't mind wating a few months for the DVD.

A remake that didn't need making and an Evil Dead with no Bruce Campbell. If I'd never watched the original then it might have been enjoyable but like all the other franchise remakes of late it was again a poor unneeded remake. I completely agree i won't watch it either I refer to it as my NO CAMPBELL, NO GO! I won't give it the time of day if it was on fire i wouldn't pee on it to put it out! On a lighter note we will be getting a Evil Dead 4 Starring Michigan's own Badazz Bruce Campbell hopefully soon as the local rumor mill spins. It's well known that Sam Raimi Had a stipulation in the contract that we would be allowed to continue the Evil Dead series with Bruce Campbell starting with number 4 and the two will run seperatly but based around the same premise. So in Ash we trust!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Against popular opinion I liked the Evil Dead remake. I mean, the original will always be special, but the remake was surprisingly good. Darker. But not humorless. Since they obviously didn't have Bruce Campbell they didn't even try to replicate his character. You'll notice Ash split up between all the main characters. Everyone has their "Ash moment". They kept some iconic moments but much of it is re-imagined. I am an Evil Dead fan and I recommend this movie.

I did double duty today. Saw Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Godzilla. Both great movies! I liked this Spider-Man even more than the first one. I'll probably go see Neighbors tomorrow. Super excited for X-Men next week.

I saw Neighbors and it was pretty damn funny. The airbags cracked me up.

My favorite of the entire series.

I know a few people disliked the Roosevelt part and thought it was silly but it really exists. Not the crazy lab part but the actual hidden underground station and train car. It's all still down there. It's deep under grand central station. I've seen it and it's very cool. Also, that deep underground in the city is like Jurassic park. The bugs are huge and ones you've never seen before!

Kingsman: The Secret Service was a great movie. What do you think about the Furious franchise continuing? I would like to see Lucas Black join the cast. I think his interaction with Tyrese would be hilarious.

I think his interaction with Tyrese would be hilarious. I'm fine with F&F continuing. I think Hobbs needs his own spinoff movie where he is just hunting someone down, like in Fast Five. Not sure about Lucas Black, I keep trying to get through Tokyo Drift but I just can't do it. It's amazing that this movie series has made it to 7. I enjoyed 7 but 5 is still the best.

Saw Interstellar weekend before last and Boyhood this last weekend.... mind blown, then heart blown. Two classics.
The first half of Interstellar was pretty boring, the last half, and especially the final 30 minutes was INSANE, beyond insane. Very terrifying portrayal of reality. Haven't been right in the head since.
Boyhood is so delightful on one hand and so regretful on the other, it blew my mind as much as Interstellar but in a much different and personal way. I pray I've been good to the people I love, I've made a lot of mistakes though, how detrimental? Only time will tell, on and in the lives of others...
