Cool new pieces. That Charged Marge is definitely an upgrade! I got a series 13 on the way I'm really excited about too. Its a pound as well. OS11 is arguably the hardest series to get a decent Pound from. It's by far the weakest series in the OS in my opinion. OS13 is much easier, hopefully you got a good one.

It's be awesome to have a beer with you. I know it's tough for you to make it though because it's so freaking expensive. Plus the location isn't ideal for you. Orlando is a much better vacation spot for you. Also, go Rays tonight. I was pissed they put out my Indians but Tampa is my second team. Beat those fuggin chowds tonight. Looks like it's fuggin game over for the Rays 3-1 in the 9th! Man i fuggin hate those Red SUX!!!! Yeah Florida would have been a better location lol but the flight costs are pretty much the same for me regardless of the state, like i said i'll try, would be awesome too meet up Yeah the Rays getting eliminated sucks. I hate all Boston teams so I can only hope Detroit or Oakland take care of business.

Updated the attendee list. There are a couple of people I should hear from soon too that I'd like to add to the list. Also, I contacted Topps about what their involvement will be in GPKUG Con 2014. I'll post my findings as soon as I know. Lastly, I haven't forgotten about the very special project. I still have some things to figure out and then I'll post it. If you're interested in coming make sure you post here. C2E2 tickets will be going up for sale soon and I don't want to miss a bulk purchase opportunity. Also, this show sells out so you need to make a decision a few months out. This thing will be here before you know it.

UPDATE:
Added attendees to the list and a few maybes. One of the maybes is GPK Artist Mark Pingitore! He is looking into getting a table in Artist Alley and should know by Decemberish if he can get one.
Also, I was talking with him and we have a very special project to announce for people attend the show. Something unbelieveably cool, fun and VERY Garbage Pail Kids. I will roll this thing out soon, possibly in the next week or two when I get a few more details locked down.

Wow, I didn't realize trains were that cheap. That's a great deal. $25 a trip.

I went ahead and booked the Chicago South Loop Hotel for $103 a night. I did so because it was pretty cheap, close to the convention center and it was 100% cancellable in case a better deal came up. It looks like a really nice place and has a hotel bar. Agreed i'm going to book in the next couple of days waiting to see if the Girlfriend is going to come WastinJasonbasin is out he just found out he got a wedding down in florida a week and a half after he'll be down there for 5 days. Sucks about wastinjasonbasin. Crazy that I've booked the whole fuggin trip outside of the convention tickets 7 months out. I wasn't expecting it to be so cheap this early.

Yeah, I saw that. It's actually $99 for a double bed room though. There is another hotel for $103 for a double bed that is half a mile away from the convention center and is a 3 star hotel. Yeah the chitown southloop better deal. I went ahead and booked the Chicago South Loop Hotel for $103 a night. Frontier is only booking through March 23 right now... cheapest flight so far is $280 for me, how the heck is yours so low Cory? I just checked Expedia. American Airlines from Denver to Chicago arriving at 9:15am is $280. Not sure why it's more because the flights are roughly the same length, but it's still pretty cheap. Only $69 difference. Maybe the price goes down or more options open up a few weeks from now?

We could always Wally World it at Six Flags. I'll bring my BB Gun. Is it wrong that I'd rather be John Candy then Anthony Michael Hall in this scenerio? Sorry Folks. The Park's Closed

LMK what you end up finding out; that sucks some donkey balls. In general, because it's a Midwest outdoor operation, Six Flags open May-Oct in general, it's the themepark I grew up going to several summers. I need to touch base with friends/family; the schedule sounds great; It would be cool to see a Cubby's game if there's a Home game that weekend. I'll fly in and meet Cory Thur, hotel it through Thur-Sat nights, hang with GPK crew through Sun, and take off to spend the week with friends/family. If you fly in before 1pm we can hit up Wrigley on Thursday. They have a day game at 2:20pm. It's be cool if Jimbo could make there early too. Wrigley is a bucket list thing for sure.

I'm down for the Cubbies if they're in town. I need to take an photo with THE MJ statue and try real chicago style pizza. Maybe we should go to the Weiners Circle(this name is so weird.) so we can be made of by the people that had the tv show for like six episodes. If Kevin Smith has a panel I'm going to that for sure(I know loser fanboy here.). Six Flags for me would be a bit of a waste my fear of heights keeps me off anything but the tea cups but could do some people watching. Cubs are in Milwaukee that weekend. Boo. They are home on Thursday the 24th though.

I'll check with my business partner GPK MONSTER, he mentioned going to this Chicago con several years ago, and he and some other collectors meeting in Atlanta and taking his Hummer to Chicago. Jason and Clint went to this same Con a while back, that's where Clint scored all those Cheap Toys! Yeah, get GPK Monster in. I sent him a text yesterday but didn't hear back. Not sure if he still has the same number.

Ask me in February. As of today, I'm 30% about going. Might have to take my family with me, we'll see. If I can talk them into it then I'll be 100%. I won't ask until at least Thanksgiving break, I'll start planting seeds, dropping hints. I wish my life was so stable as to plan this far ahead. Good news, is KarVan asked me last Spring why I wasn't going to Orlando. (Thanks honey, for the doorway) ..And no matter what, it will be a road trip. The only way I'm getting on another plane is if I'm going abroad. It's only a 13-hour drive from Agusta, which is only 5 hours more of a drive than normal. Plant those seeds Shawty.

What do you guys think about going to Six Flags: Great America on Friday? Looks like a pretty good theme park. I've never been there but I've been to two other Six Flags parks and they've been good, especially Magic Mountain in CA.
Also, do we have any baseball fans out there? Maybe a trip to Wrigley if the Cubs are in town that weekend.
Any other ideas of things to do in Chicago? Want to do some kind of GPK case break for those that collect new stuff. Maybe a case of MiniKins. I think it would be interesting to watch.

It's official, the next GPKUG Con is going to be held in Chicago at the C2E2 Convention on Saturday, April 26th, 2014! Guests: TBA Tickets aren't up for sale yet, but there is a group ticket option for groups of 10 or more. Maybe we can pool together and get a little bit of a discount. I'm going to search for a Hotel online that we can stay at. It is really a great time/convenient when we all stay in the same hotel. It cuts down on transportation BS and having to coordinate meet-ups and etc. So keep that in mind when you book a hotel. When I find a decent hotel at a decent price I'll post it up here. Find a bunk mate and cut your cost in half. Typical Itenerary of the GPKUG Con: Thursday - Arrive Friday - Do something as a group Saturday - Convention Sunday - Do something as a group Monday - Leave Last time we made Sunday the departure day over Monday, vote in the poll above to decide on when the Con ends. If you are going to come to the event please post here and I'll add you to the guest list below.GUEST LIST:ARTISTS:Mark Pingitore - CONFIRMED (will have a table in artist alley ) Brent Engstrom - MAYBE (if he has the free time from work) MEMBERS:BarrenAaron Jimbo Cory Dxtc (aka Papa Shango) Adam Bomb ogpgk333 gpkcollector (aka Helper Elf) TornShaun pinkladyslippers dhurley MAYBES:RusVan Artful Dodger Wayne UKM OS1 Mafia Stinger GregoryPaulSmith I'll update this post as more information becomes available. Looking forward to seeing you guys again. UPDATE #1 UPDATE: Here is a really cool update for you. There will be a group photo of all attendess from GPKUG at C2E2 like in past years. However, this year we'll have a bit of a twist to it. We are going to take that group photo and turn it into a GPK class photo like what was done in Giant Series 2 This will be painted by Mark Pingatore and will be 11" X 14" in size. Everyone in the painting will have the opportunity to purchase a signed limited edition print directly from Mark. It will be limited to the amount of people in the painting. Cool bonus potential, I talked to Stephen Dumas over at Topps about getting this painting could be included as a card back in an upcoming series. We'll know if it's good enough after it's painted. Details on when the photo will take place, print pricing and any requirements to participate will be posted before the show.

If you guys haven't played the Walking Dead game by TellTale you need to do so ASAP. It is arguably better than the show. Really cool game.
Don't play the Walking Dead game FPS though.

Battletoads is by far the hardest game I've ever played, that game is just unforgiving. I can't even beat it using game genie with unlimited lives. Top Gun is hard not because it's difficult, but because it's broken. You only really die in that game when you have to land or refuel.
Ghosts and Goblins is hard but manageable with the dagger.
The first Turtles game is a nightmare too. I beat that game but fugg it was rough.
Blaster Master wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to play the whole damn thing in one sitting. No password or save features is bulls**t. Cool game though.

So I've been playing the NES I have in my office at work a lot, specifically Mike Tyson's Punch-Out. For the first time in 25 years I beat Mike Tyson. Since then I've beat him a few more times (once in a 2nd Round TKO with 1 second left on the clock). I don't know how I accomplished that s**t as a kid, s**t is brutal. Anyone beat a really hard game on the NES lately? I haven't played my NES in a long time but seeing this thread pop up reminded me about Duck Tales Remastered. I just check and it comes out today!! CHECK IT OUTI played Duck Tales Renastered last month it's awesome. Got the old voice actors and everything. I hope they do Duck Tales 2 next.
