So I realize this is a completely random post...but it had to happen.
I just downloaded 'Fletch: The Jane Doe Edition' and am watching it while I work on the CPU and DAMN...this is one of the best movies ever. I must have watched this movie 150+ times growing up - and I still have 95% of it memorized, but I haven't seen it in years. The soundtrack is amazing - and Chase has NEVER been better...even as Griswold.
Anyway, like I said - completely random...but a little shout out to one of the greats!!
"Mooooooon River..."

Anyone interested in that movie "1408" with Jon Cusak? I think it looks pretty cool.

Wots interesting is that i read the Stephen King story about 2 weeks before i saw this preview. You can find the story in his most recent collection of short stories called Everthings Eventual. 1408 is only about 25 pages long but it looks like the movie is going to do it justice though. Few things i noticed that are different (no spoilers really); in the story no electronics work in 1408 but in the preview he is talking to someone through a laptop. the story makes no mention of a family at all, the preview appears to show his family. in the story he doesn't crawl through an air duct, in the preview he runs into a dead body in the air duct.
But even movies have to spice things up, especially when the story is as short as it is. King often begins a story without any knowledge of how its going to end. He said that when he began writing this story that by the end of it, it actually had him a little frightened. It is quite creepy and i'm all about some King movies. After all, he is THE best writer currently.

I just got back from seeing Transformers and it is by far the best movie I've seen all summer. The FX action scenes are fuggin intense. I've never seen anything like it....ever. It's rare to see people high fiving during a movie, but I saw it on multiple occasions.

(2 movies since the millinium LOR Two Towers and Troy... Two towers was good but slow and Troy blah.. I wish I saw Gladiator in the movies) I really liked Transformers when I was a kid and I kinda thinking of maybe going to the movie. The CNN movie review kinda ripped it up though....

I went and seen it tonight also and was very disappointed. The fight scenes had so much going on you could hardly tell what was happening. Also, it seems as if they were trying to make it a comedy instead of an action movie.

I'd say that if you aren't a Transformers fan then you probably won't get too much enjoyment out of it. Also, don't sit close or see this movie in IMAX, there is just way too much going on for your eyes to see it all. I saw everything fine on a normal screen and sitting about 5 rows from the back.

One word: Ratatouille. Thanks Shrek. We get another cartoon with animals acting like humans that uses the same gags from the other 10,000 cartoons that have been released over the past 5 years. Enough is enough.

I am probably the biggest Transformers fan out there. Have my whole back tattooed of a battle scene. And still have most of the original toys in their packages. That's why I was so disappointed. These Transformers just looked like giant robots once they transformered. At least the old school Transformers still resembled cars/planes even though they were in robot mode.

There was no way this movie could live up to your expectations then. I can see how a TF purist would be disappointed with the look of the robots. Afterall, Prime has lips.

Cory isn't dumb. Cory just has a taste for movies for people over the age of 2. Don't worry, you'll get there someday. :wave1: That's probably true about the Oscar. But that's not saying much because the Oscars are a joke.

Is that new Die Hard movie any good? I saw it this afternoon. If you liked the first 3 Die Hard movies you won't be disappointed. It was a great popcorn flick. Can't wait to see all the good stuff they cut out to make it PG-13 I need to see 1408 next. I've been putting it off for dumb friends. I don't know if I posted this before but Evan Almighty is one of the biggest piles of s**t I've ever seen.
