Did anyone see The Descent? I was debating on seeing it this weekend before it goes off the big screen.

I haven't seen The Descent yet. Have any of you seen Deuce Bigelow European Gigolo? Those movies are pretty funny. I liked the movie Stealth also.

What are some of the scariest movies that people here have seen?
Jaws got the scariest movie moment on some Top 100 countdown thing on TV.

Jaws looked really fake to me so personally I think its kind of stupid to have that listed as number 1. I'm going to leave out guys like Leatherface, Jason, Freddy and Michael Myers because those are obvious choices. I think movies like Exorcist, The Ring, and The Grudge are on the creepy side.

Jaws is probably ranked high because of the fear it put in people going into the water. I can't swim to begin with, so the man-eating shark thing hasn't really ever scared me. I've tried to watch it a few times, but can't stay interested enough to watch it all the way through. The Exorcist (#3) and The Ring (#20) were both on the list. I just saw another clip for the TCM: The Beginning and it really looks scary. I wanted to go see it tonight, but didn't. Probably have to wait six months for it to come out on video.

Jaws looks dumb now but back in the day that was top of the line stuff. I wonder how many people got a fear of water from that movie. I can understand it being very high on any horror list because it impacted people's lives back then. Movies don't really scare me. I guess the scariest movie I saw as a kid was Creepshow. Specifically the cockroach segment. I'm still scared of cockroaches to this day. THe first Final Destination had some startling parts, but not scary. Resident Evil 2 on PS1 scared the s**t out of me when it first came out. I had nightmares for a week. So awesome.

I can remember Candyman being really scary. I know I was too young to handle watching it at the time; I was probably around 9-years-old the first time I saw it. It was definitely messed up and seemed more real than any other horror movie I had watched up to that point. This wasn't no Jason, Freddy, or Chucky. This was serious. I can remember something happening with a retarded kid in a public park bathroom stall, getting his certain 'I-don't-know-what' chopped off and left in the toilet. Then something about a mutilated dog, and I think a woman, too, lying all bloody on a kitchen floor. I think I had had enough at that point and couldn't watch any more. s**t was traumatizing to see at that age. Not to mention suddenly being terrified to look into a mirror in the dark while at the same time holding back the temptation to say his name three times.

I went and saw this last night. It didn't end up being scary like I thought it would. I guess it was pretty gory, but not quite enough visible gore for what was going on (damn MPAA f**cking everyone over once again ). If they put out an unrated version on DVD, then that might show a little more. Overall, I didn't think it was as good as the 2003 remake. Anyone else ever see any movies that scared them? Come on, it's the month for creepy stuff.

I still haven't seen it. :DThat figure is brutal and gory but I'm not getting my hopes up with the gore when it comes to this movie. You'll probably have to wait until the DVD. I'm sure I'll like it a lot though from the previews. Just the sound of the chainsaw makes me happy whenever I watch a TCM movie. I was getting all worked up for the "table" scene, but it didn't quite deliver and show as much as I had expected. It was still pretty gory, though. I think I seen so many damn clips and previews beforehand, that it felt like I had pretty much already seen most of the film as I was watching it. Which really hurt the viewing.

We went and saw Grudge 2 the other night. Worst freaking movie EVER :nope: I didn't really have high expectations going in anyway but thought I would atleast think it was ok. There was just way too much going on at the same time. They didn't end up tieing things together in the end like you hoped for so a lot of it didn't end up making any sense. Looks like they left it open for a Grudge 3

What are you talking about it was better than the remake. :sniglet: I think there was more gore in this movie and I enjoyed the kills. Some kills weren't even seen in the remake and the most violent/gory part of the whole movie was when the hitchhiker blew her brains out. You gotta love Sheriff Hoyt also. He was great in both films. I just saw another clip for the TCM: The Beginning and it really looks scary. I wanted to go see it tonight, but didn't. The last movie I saw at the theater was the grudge II, the first one was so much better IMO.
I am really picky when it comes to everything and movies are no exception.
Some of my personal favorites are:
Fargo Pulp Fiction Reservior Dogs A Clockwork Orange Full Metal Jacket 2001: A space odyssey Godfather part I Vanilla Sky (most people hated it but I thought it was brilliant) Event Horizon (another movie that not many people liked) Sling Blade Silence of the lambs

I'd rather watch granny porn than that stuff. I hate Shrek for bring on the mass quantities of shitty computer graphics cartoons. None of them are as good as Shrek so why bleed our eyes? Speaking of Shrek, Shrek the Third is coming out. I watched the trailer and it's not making me want to watch it.
