So who besides me is gonna pick up this little gem on Tuesday? I saw this at Navy Pier in Imax and I've watched the bootleg about 5 or 6 times. Having it in HD and full surround will be a very welcomed upgrade. For those who haven't seen it yet don't expect too much of a plot. Just kick back and enjoy the CGI and all the blood.

I saw the movie and wasn't impressed. I was expecting something a little more graphic and over the top. It's basically just another war movie except with a pretty backdrop and really annoying actors with really crappy lines. "THIS IS SPARTA" and "TONIGHT WE DINE IN HELL" and the one where the girl says Spartan women are allowed to talk because they give birth to Spartans were some of the craptastic standouts. Also the "gay" Shao Kahn scene was stupid. "YOU WEAK PATHETIC FOOL" "JOHNNY CAGE WINS - FLAWLESS VICTORY - FATALITY" Sin City was a really cool movie so maybe I just set my expectations too high. The next DVD (Blu-Ray) I buy is going to be Grindhouse. Planet Terror was so fuggin awesome.

I'll be getting that too. Tarantino and Rodriguez are 2 of my favorites.

Hey Cory, was Grindhouse pretty cool? I wanted to see it but never got around to it. I'm always doen for some fugged Terinntino films (i just murdered the spelling of his name) Tarantino did the second movie called Death Proof. Rodriguez did Planet Terror. You will absolutely love Planet Terror. It's one of the most entertaining movies I've seen in a long time. Talk about over the top craziness. This movie delivered with every single detail. Death Proof is kinda slow but cool in it's own way.

Grindhouse was the best movie I've seen in a long time. I left the theater with a big grin on my face. I liked Death Proof a little more then Planet Terror. I hear that they are releasing the movies separately on DVD. I love the fake trailers in the middle on the 2 films. I would pay to see that movie "Thanksgiving" here's the link . I can't understand why it tanked at the box office?

I am looking forward to "Halloween" but I don't think it will be better then "Grindhouse". The pics of the new Michael Myers looks good.

I agree that Transformers is a must see, but the Simpsons movie did push the limits in certain areas...Language, content, gestures & over all appearance. "I will not legally download this movie" :mischief: -TCT

For me "Grindhouse" set the bar for the summer movies and nothing has equaled or surpassed that yet. I'm hoping "Halloween" will deliver.

"I will not legally download this movie" -TCT I think that quote was "I will not illegally download this movie" I thought the Simpson's was a great movie. It kept me entertained. I wish I wouldn't have seen so many different trailers for the movie. If felt like I saw the whole thing before I ever got to the theater. Same thing happened with Spiderman 3. Anyway, It was a great movie but not the best movie of the year. That distinction goes to either Planet Terror or Transformers. Both of those movies blew my expectations away.

It's unforunate that the film industry is so concerned with being politically correct and making PG13 movies.....yeah i know the tweens are the cash cow for hollywood....
The Simpsons could have gone alot farther.....It barely pushed the envelope any harder then the TV series.....it was as entertaining as i could have expected.....

Ya, Shoot 'Em Up looks good. I want to see it. Maybe next weekend. Anyone see the new Halloween yet? It was bad. I am a huge Halloween fan and this was just ...Mehh. It didn't really add anything to the series. I liked Zombie's Devil's Rejects though.

Clive Owen rules and this movie was great. :happysmoke: Some of the crazy stuff reminded me of Jason Statham and the Transporter movies.

A friend of mine said that this Halloween was the best of them all and the second best movie of the year next to Planet Terror (Grindhouse). I don't trust him though. He is the reason I suffered through Evan Almighty as opposed to seeing 1408. I'll probably watch it when it comes out on DVD.

Grindhouse will not be Grindhouse on DVD. Two separate DVDs on two separate dates. BOO! Shoot 'Em Up was good, for what it was. I love Clive Owen and Paul Giamatti. 3:10 to Yuma is the best film of the year in a bad year for movies. Nice lil' gem, check it out for sure. I'll go out on a limb and say Ben Foster gets nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Glad to see him get a role after Six Feet Under. In other news, I saw the Shining, my all-time favorite movie, at the midnight showing. Gotta love it.
