I'm surprised more people haven't said anything about Wolverine. I'm happy Deadpool is getting his own movie. I thought it was pretty good. I saw the copy that's been floating around with some of the incomplete CGI and I really enjoyed it. Of course I wasn't expecting much and didn't have to fork over any cash so there was no let down. Anyway I'd deff recommend it. If you liked any of the X-men movies then you'll like this one as well.

Did your wife love it because it was a good movie, or because of Hugh Jackman? I think Hugh's butt had a lot to do with it. ;D

I saw it on Sunday. Great movie. The cast is awesome. The only gripe I have with the movie is that the Terminators in the movie are kinda soft. Back in the T1 & T2 days the Terminators straight up killed bitches fast and brutal whether by hand or by weapon. They kinda suck at actually terminating people in the movie. Last I check a terminator could punch through a dude's body or at least punch/slap someone in the face and kill them. Other than that the movie is great. Star Trek is still a little bit better overall though but you can't go wrong with either of these summer blockbusters.

Anyone else going to see it soon or have already seen it?

Don't give any more money to the franchise sneak in or wait for the bootleg. Bay sucked again.

Wow - these were not the reviews I was expecting! Any specifics to the suckiness, or was it just an overall crapfest?

I wrote so much about it I'm kind of drained. It's not super bad, but it's super long. Effects are great, but I'm over that crap. It's about a story that lasts not about making little kids happy now. They will see it when they grow up and know it sucked. I thought the Animated Movie was way more mature and interesting then this thing. Too much for nothing. I rather a short, well thought out innovative story. I mean most people will like it, but that's cause they don't care about films. I never new who Bay was until TF1 and I knew after seeing that mess how this one was going to be worse than that. This is equivalent to what the first Hulk movie was. I was hoping that not enough people would see this movie so a more qualified director could make a better film. *Spoiler. Why call something Devastator that doesn't look or act like the original character? I didn't evern see them transform to robots first. It was more like Voltron. I hate how he just goes in there and changes all kinds of s**t around. Man after Bay bashing McG over how he was doing big robots in his film, Bay goes on to have a cyborg looking chick robot reminiscent of T3. Overall both T4 and this sucked. T4 was better and simpler. Bay is like a movie director juiced up on steroids. Where's the classic intelligent and creative directors? Must be doing other types of films. My fault for wishing more from a film. On a side note. I do think Harry Potter will be good.

It was exactly what I wanted, and exactly what I was expecting.
I loved it.
(BTW...I love how the auto-correct on this site turns 'f a g s' to 'd u d e s' :lol1: )

I have nothing against Michael Bay as a director. He makes eye candy action movies and I can respect that. I've liked a bunch of his movies: The Rock, Bad Boys 1, Bad Boys 2 (although this one dragged on for about a half hour too long), Transformers and Armagaeddon. Transformers 2 suffers from a horrible script. The people that wrote it (including Bay as the director) abandoned too much this time. The changes they made to the Transformer characters were too drastic. Especially with fan favorites Jetfire and Devastator. I'm am still stunned at the lameness of those two characters to be honest with you. I don't mind that they changed the look of the Transformers but you can't abandon their personalities and expect people to like it. It'd be like making a movie about the Hulk but giving him The Beast's personality. They need to stick the the Transformers formula if they want to make a good movie about Transformers. It's as simple as that. I won't even get into how horrible the Twins were, just think Jar Jar Binks X2.

An 'a' at the end is significatly different. SPOILERSAlso, outside of the fight in the forest, the opening scene, the bumblebee fight, Ravage, Starscream and Megatron interactions and the Devastator transformation (all of which accounted for 30 minutes of the 2 1/2 hours) what did you like about this movie? I'd love to hear it from the perspective of someone who's spirit wasn't crushed. I mean Jetfire was a grandpa complete with cane and beard Devastator was turned into a f**cking ape vacuum cleaner complete with BALLS.....AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to kill whoever came up with that abomination for my favorite TF of all time. The parents were annoying as f**k, actually all the humans were annoying as f**k outside of Shia and Megan Fox. Transformer gods and Transformers terminators The incredibly stereotyped Jar Jar Binks Twins

Overall both T4 and this sucked. T4 was better and simpler. What the fugg? I remember you glowing about T4's awesomeness. T4 was great son. Not perfect but a fun watch. Not like TF2 which was just fuggin boring 80% of the time.

I'd love to hear it from the perspective of someone who's spirit wasn't crushed. Since you asked... SPOILERSSo I know people usually hate my reasons for liking shitty movies, but it's the truth...I went for pure entertainment and I was purely entertained. I literally hit the theaters like four or five times a year, so it was a big deal when me and a few buddies lined up at the IMAX for the 9:00am show. We didn't have to talk about babies, or diapers, or work, or bills, or etc. - we were just geeked to go see some big robots punch some other big robots. Sure, the movie wasn't great from a script perspective, but I didn't need it to have a good script to be entertained. I thought the dialog was pretty humorous throughout and loved the side characters of Shia's roomates, and Tuturo. I even thought the parents were pretty funny for a while - but then she started to get annoying. And to be fair, I'm not a loyalist when it comes to the toyline. I played the s**t out of 'em when I was a kid, but I wasn't up in arms 2 years ago when they put flames on Prime any more than I was that they made Soundwave a total chump in this one. It was visually amazing and big and loud and just what I wanted. My friends and I actually all loved it. From Shia's screaming in his dorm room to the parachute scene, to the kickass fight in the forest (which looked amazing in IMAX btw), to the nice slo-mo at the end, to - well, you get the point. It was just fun. I could go on and on, but no one's opinions are really gonna change. I had fun - period.

Those are douchebag complaints. The look of the robots doesn't matter to me for the most part. It thought Soundwave's role was fine in this movie. I wish he was in it more but I didn't mind his job as a recon bot. As for the other stuff, you're crazy. I'd rather talk about diapers than watch that movie to be honest with you. Glad you enjoyed it though. Wish I was in the same boat. I hate wasting money on shitty movies.

Man I thought I had so much to hate about the first one and then this is twice as long (if you count the windshield factor) Man...I thought I hated Ang Lee for killing the Hulk. I hope in 5 years after Bay departs that someone with a "real" love for TF can deliver something great. I'm just disappointed with most of the movies this year. T4 wasn't bad, but I guess I was compromised with my involvement in the sketches. I thought it was good, but not incredible. It had way better moments with a lot less time. Spoilers!!!!] I didn't hate TF1 when I left the theatre. It was after repeated viewings. That's when you know it sucked beanbags. I know I won't be able to watch this thing more than I can watch LOTR3. Just way too much investment. Atleast LOTR3 makes sense except for the 3 endings it had and the pillow fight. We had Gandolf as Jetfire. The beginning of the end was the Terminator girl. So sad. Seems like the Allspark can make anything a robot which I thought was ridiculous from the first movie. If the Allspark can make anything a robot then what makes the TFs special? I liked the dialogues between the Decepticons. That was missing in the first one. Megatron and Starscream interacting was sweet. That "Fallen" fool was stupid. The Matrix baby robot ideas was silly. The "apprentice" talk was retarded between the Fallen and Megatranny. What's with the Gods? Freaking stupid. Megan fox is starting to annoy me. They should have Karate Kid 2 her ass. Bring in a new chick...um not a robot...thanks. By the Balls of Devastator please no more Bay on this. I feel I lost a piece of my soul.

A couple of friends and I finally saw Transformers: Revenge of the bullsh*t this weekend. What an f*cking mess? I held off reading this spoiler thread until I could see the movie and form my own opinion. In reality, I should have read this first then downloaded it. Cory, Barry, & LD hit the nail on the head!
About a month ago when I was in Florida I bought my son a Burger King Transformers happy meal. The toy which happened to be Devastator had four construction vehicles for limbs and a hunched ape-like body. I knew then that this movie was going to be questionable.
Devastator wrecking balls!!!!!!! If I would’ve seen that abomination earlier in the film, I would have walked out!

Hopefully, everyone that didn't see the movie yet will skip it: Nico liked it. Pinger liked it. My wife liked...most of it. She thought the Terminator stuff was completely f**cking out of place and stupid. This pile of s**t is easily the Indy 4 of 2009. On the flip side, Star Trek is easily the Iron Man of 2009. Could Iron Man 2 be the shittiest movie next year? I'd like to think it won't be but I can't say anything would shock me nowadays.

Oh yeah, I saw Bruno on Saturday. I'd say this movie is solid rental material. This movie was really hit and miss. It went from extremely funny to extremely boring like a fuggin yo-yo through the entire film. The movie is VERY crude and degrading to pretty much everyone, which is the intent. If you were a fan of Borat then you'll probably like this movie. You won't get the incessant quoting from this movie like what happened with Borat though...thank god. s**t was annoying. The movie can be offensive to some people. I actually saw people walk out during the Milli Vanilli scene. That was actually funnier than the scene itself. The theater I was in was almost completely empty too, which was surprising. Theater was packed for Borat. Maybe the gay theme turned a lot of people off. I think it's a one viewing affair. I can't see it being funny after you know what's going to happen...kinda like Borat.

Yeah you can make fun of everything, but "macho men" have issues with that. Girls already probably didn't dig Borat all that much so I don't see them going to see this unless their man forces them to. I don't recall the last time I saw people walk out from a movie, though I know I should have walked out from a certain movie. Would have saved me from the pain.
