Series 2 Cheap Toys
I'm a Series 1 Cheap Toy guy, I love the first 10 sculpts better than the last 10 sculpts, I love their look and all the colors they came in. Yet, I like the Series 2's as well, but have a troubling history collecting Series 2s.
May 2009, I completed my FIRST the Series 2 set, I will NEVER forget the day because I was banned from UG that day for cussing out Spanky and Spree (and 5 UG CT collectors), who I felt had hindered my goal. Needlesstosay, I was crazy, VERY crazy then, if you knew me then, you remember. I was under EXTREME amounts of pressure, in my career, my personal life, my health, and in my collecting life.
By September 2009, I had traded all but a few of my Series 2 for several Series 1 Novos (Red Adam, Green Petey -later traded for some Magenta packs). In December I made the HARD decision to sell my childhood sports card collection (raised 5K), buy back a Series 2 set, and more, corner the Cheap Toy market and attempt to take down my two rivals. By Feb of 10 I did, and by April I had completed my second Series 2 set.
April 2010, completed Second Series 2 set. This set troubled me because it was red heavy, it had 5 stinking reds in it. I ended up later in 2010 trading the 5 reds to Sean for Red Thin Lynn, a dumb move, in a way, but I'm a Series 1 guy, they are my weakness. I traded the rest, and other series 2's I picked up here and there for other Series 1 novos.
Feb 2012-Nov 2015. During this time I only bought 3 S2s, Blue Glen and TCT's Gradiated Green Kathy and a yellow Kirk (and I already has Prototype Still Jill). I spent most of those three years buying candy and gum wrappers.
Nov 2015- present. I decided one cold and lonely and desperate Winter day to quit collecting, and after pondering it that following weekend, I knew I could not quit, I could never walk away without at least a Series 2 set. Instead I decided to piece together the ULTIMATE SERIES 2 NOVO SET! The last 5 months have been crazy... here's how it went down...

I then hit a wall, I contacted my dear friend GraffitiBen, and I COULD NOT BELIEVE what he told me, he had a SUNSHINE STILL JILL FOR SALE! The last figure in this epic lot from Ben was Yellow Gator. Gator is my least favorite S2, and so thinking about his colors, I think Yellow is my favorite for him. Anything looks good in Sunshine. Next, I contacted Jsul, aka Jim, and he was selling a few S2s. I didn't need any he had, but he said he could get me a Sunshine Micky!!! I already had blue and red by this point, but I said f**k it, I LOVE Sunshine Micky, and he promised it was mint.... PACK FRESH SUNSHINE YELLOW BEAKY BECKY!!!  |

At this point I was freaking out, because I was buying so many Sunshines, I was worried my Color set would be off balance like it was in April of 2010. I contacted Jackson who had begun to sell some of his collection, and I could not believe when he said he would sell me Novo Blue (Series 1) Alice Island. Out of all (few, LOL) the Series 1 Novos NOT in my collection, the one that bothered me the most was Blue Alice, I'll never forget the night it sold on LRG, but I couldn't get to it (left LRG in November 2010), nor could I get anyone to buy it for me. Anyway, I bought it! Jan 2016  I also bought Sunshine Phyllis, a few weeks later from Jackson, who I always wanted for my color for Phyllis in the Dream Set! MINTY, Feb 2016  |

I was now down to ONE MORE Sculpt for my 10 set. Was it Phil or Micky-the raest sculpts??? No, it was the most common sculpt of all... Dot! I WAS MISSING DOT! (from Jay Lynch's collection)  Gradiated Kathy (from TCT's collection)  Sunshine Kirk (bought from Ben in 2011)  Blue Glen, I won in a legendary eBay lot that featured Novo Blue Crater Chris, Sean and I won the lot for 1500.00, and beat out Czarcher and some other goons.  |
