I've just noticed that chrome 2 was the last set to be released before the 30th anniversary series which was the start of the themed series and chrome 3 will be the first series released after the 35th anniversary set so hopefully that means it could be the last themed set and they go back to basics it would be good if the themed sets started with 30th anniversary and ended with a 35th anniversary with a chrome set released just before and after before going back to basic sets with no specific theme

The name frosted fanny made me laugh that's because I'm British so it means frosted vagina to me not frosted arse like it does to the Americans on these boards

School isn’t a bad theme. I only liked the art on one of the cards though. I think the themed thing should end. Diversity is good, too much of the same thing is bad. I agree OS3 was one of the most diverse sets with Centaurs, Robots, Dinosaurs, The grim reaper, Spiders, Mermaids, Sphinx, Statue of liberty, Werewolf and many more you can't get this wide range of characters with a themed set

So what is up with Im just painting over old GPK in this set? She literally still can't paint a good looking GPK even after stealing a piece of Pound art. I'm talking about the Forrest Gump kid being identical to Tagged Tad from OS5. She is just a terrible artist and that is almost an objective statement. Check out this gif Mark posted on FB I say let’s burn her at the stake!! Off with the head!! No seriously she really does suck though it’s very sad Did she also do Plaid Chad who is Joe Blow without bubble gum wearing plaid and the Cannon one which is basically Cannon Bill from BNS1

Has anyone found the classic 90s reprint set yet I cant find any on Ebay and I can't buy any packs in stores since I live in the UK. I have found some sold with the main set from 9046Clint but its about $80 including shipping to the UK in previous releases he sold them seperatly I would like to find a set sold on its own for a bit cheaper

I think it's really bad . ................ don't like it at all Agreed. I really don't see how anyone can look at that and think it's a good GPK. Even the concept is half-assed. Just a fat CPK with a couple of tattoos. Oooooo, so thuggish looking... When I saw the name Tattoo lou on the checklist I was hoping it would be another version of Tattou Lou from series 2 who is a much better character than this

I wonder if this set will have another Bony Tony parody like 30th anniversary had the child of Bony Tony and Lizard Liz, Trashy TV had an x-files Scully/Alien Adam-geddon had Hillary/Bill Clinton reprinted from the online series, We hate the 80s had He Man/Skeletor and oh the horrible had a They Live Bony Tony parody so will they continue the trend in this set

Apparently the previous brand manager/art director Walton *was* a fan of GPK (whatever that means). So we've seen that that isn't good enough, at least on its own. I think we need an art director (whether he's a GPK fan or not) who understands that it is good business to appeal to the original collectors. Releasing nostalgia-themed sets alone isn't good enough. The new guy needs to be more stringent in requiring that the cards look like CPKs. Most of the newer cards don't look like CPKs. For instance, they might look like a werewolf, rather than a CPK that looks like a werewolf. Or they might look like just a generic cartoon person, rather than a CPK. For me, a big part of it rides on the design of the hair. The kids must have yarn-like hair or be completely bald. You can't give a kid straight hair and expect it to be accepted as a GPK. There are other physical attributes that make a CPK a CPK, but the hair is crucial. Also, they need to be kids. Obviously this doesn't hold for the abstract pieces, but if the subject is a person, it needs to be a KID. You can't have the subject be an adult and expect it to be accepted as a GPK by the original collectors. But the original series had human characters that weren't kids such as Ancient Annie/Wrinkled Rita who was an old lady

It's a new year, and I've resolved to be a better person and say only nice things. So I am looking forward to this release, because then it will be behind us and we can hope that with a new art director, the next release will be closer to what we want - cards that actually look like Garbage Pail Kids. And non themed sets with a little more variety in characters as themed sets limit what can be in the set for example Oh the horrorible has to be monsters, aliens etc and battle of the bands is limited to human characters as all musicians are human etc so I hope they go back to a basic set with a wide variety of characters

Are they still doing online sets as they didn't release a halloween or thanksgiving set this year. Iv'e heard the management recently changed and the upcoming we hate the 90s set is the last one produced under the previous management so hopefully the new management has decided to stop or cut down on online releases

Hopefully they will abandon the themed sets and go back to the original format as I read on a GPK facebook page that we hate the 90s is the last set created under the previous managment of Topps so hopefully whowever is in charge at Topps now will decide to go back to the original format

I’ve only seen about half so far I wonder why they are having so many concept parodies of Bony Tony recently there is Living Levi in this series and previously they had Shedding Sam/Lizard Lou in the 30th anniversary, Billary Hillary, Unmasked Matt and Gary Old Man in the online series, Open Scully/Disguised Dana in Trashy TV and He Manny/Skel-Etor in we hate the 80s

What characters will they have in the classic reprint subset since the original GPKs finished in the 80s so I can't think of any 90s specific characters

The classic reprint cards have the same desighn as the ones from we hate the 80s I was expecting a skull or some sort of monster face in the corner like the nuclear symbol in Adam-geddon or the musical note in Battle of the bands

Why raise it to 100 characters up by 10 from the last 3 themed series why not just go that bit further and make it 110 like the first few themed series

This set's similarity to Battle of the Bands got me wondering if we would start buying these online sets if Topps marketed them as extensions of the retail set. For example, if you bought BotB and the backs of these Hall of Lame cards had the BotB logo instead and were treated as a new subset, would you be compelled to buy it knowing your BotB collection just became incomplete? No. The first online releases were treated as extensions to American as Apple pie even after the release of other themed sets such as Prime slime trashy TV

it will have a similar feel to Adam-geddon But Adam-geddon contained original concepts. From the sample "Jason" art, this feels more like We Hate the '80s where it will just be parodies of familiar horror movies and characters. But I expect most of the classic horror reprint set will have many of the Same characters from classic Adam-geddon such as Jay Decay,Charred Chad, Hot Scott, Grim Jim and possibly Alien Ian if they consider him to be horror as well as Sci fi

I'm hoping that this set is good. From what the artist say it's gonna be a nice set. I just hope they don't go crazy on subsets and parallels and address some of the concerns like back art number placement card stock. I imagine it will have a similar feel to Adam-geddon as both horror and the apocalypse are both themes that involve death and destruction

As a UK collector I would like a similar set to As american as apple pie but with a british theme I'm curious to see what the creators of GPK would imagine when they think of Britain

I hope thats true as some of my favourite GPKs are based on monsters such as Nasty Nick, Jay Decay,Hot Scott,Grim Jim, Frank N Stein, Eerie Eric, Charred Chad I'm not sure if aliens such as Alien Ian or Robots such as Hot Head Harvey would be classed as monsters

Also, some of the concepts are weird. Why is Michael Stype supposed to be Rip Van Winkle?
I'm guessing because Rip Van winkle fell into a deep sleep and Michael Stype's band name is R.E.M which is the phase of sleep you go through when you dream

How about they make the theme Garbage pail kids so they get more variation of characters some themes like music don't allow much variety and all the characters on Battle of the bands were human. Some of the old series had a wide variety of characters such as series 3 with a Robot, Mermaid, Werewolf, Sphinx, Frankensteins monster, Grim Reaper, Spider, Vulture, Totem Pole, Toad and many others which you dont get in themed sets
