Still think it's better than the months long "political" sets they were releasing. Our political parties/politics are a joke..yes...but I am over hearing about it/seeing it constantly. Anything, and I do mean anything, is better than the political themed sets. It just gets really depressing to see what GPK's have been reduced to that's all. πππ

Dear God Topps. Why do they have to capitalize on every, single, solitary pop culture flavor of the month that shambles along? Well...I "know why". But still dude, just c'mon aldready.π So I take it Quarantine Pail Kids is probably a non-starter for you then? That would be correct good sir.π₯π

I agree that a Trumpocracy 2020 set would be an absolute triumph!π And that's not the vodka and Bourbon smoothie I just finished doing the talking either. Sure, some might suggest that such a set would be a dumpster fire of cringe. Some even say that it would be more like a thermonuclear blast of cringe. But I say what the hell! How bad could it possibly be?π How bad could it be? As bad as the first time. I think Topps should do it though. People will buy anything so why not exploit them. Why not indeed Cory. I mean, just because I didn't buy the previous Trumpocracy set, or will buy a 2020 set if they do one, that is. Who am I kidding, of course Topps is gonna do another one. And even if by some slim, and I do mean, slim (hairsbreadth) of a chance the artwork for such a set is decent. The concepts will be cringe and woke on a molecular level.

I wonder if Topps will take it up a notch this time with the artists and hire 1st graders instead of Mrs. Kaneβs kindergarten class? One can only pray for such a thing Steve. Maybe we'll really luck out, and Topps will hire several cross-eyed chimpanzees with paint brushes caught in their teeth. Hell's Bell's, we could even get a large cloth sack full of alley cat's with long histories of mental illness, and paint on thier paws to do the art for the set. Sigh...one can dream Steve, one can dream.ππΉ

The game sucks balls, I deleted it within minutes to make room for Blades I canβt even bring myself to DL it. Kudos to you for mustering enough fucks to try it. Damn, it's really that bad. I had hoped that wouldn't be the case, with the artwork and animations looking kinda cool like they do.

Why can't topps just give us one...JUST ONE, set that's not this crap? I'm sorry, I don't mean to trash all of the actually good\legit art that is in this set. Or for that fact, to be rude to any artist or their respective work on this set. But...BRUH! The pop-culture spoof only policy for topps on these sets seems to be on a molecular...no, scratch that sub-atomic level.π

here are my thoughts on the series, the art is actualy very good overall . but these are not "gpk's" a few quick examples, the bad taste , the nosferatu , the donnie darko rabbit ......... they are simply cartoons of the exact character . I look at the nosferatu gpk and I say ? that is simply just ? nosferatu ........ its a cartoon of nosferatu and they call it a gpk ......... what makes that illustration of nosferatu a gpk ? nothing at all . you guys know what im saying ? overall I only kept 7 cards for my collection . I agree damien. If this set was an original cartoony spoof of the horror genre I could get on board. Topps could have made a whole new I.P outta this. Instead they slap GPK on it and expect us to go gaga for it.π

I'm still sad this is going to be a card battle game. I have no interest in that genre. A GPK fighting or adventure game would've been awesome! Ah well... I don't mind it being a card game. But, I don't think it's the right choice for GPK though. Like I said awhile back, a game like Nintendo's Warioware would be a good fit for GPK.

P.S: I love the TarMan spoof. As soon as I saw that, I grinned ear to ear.

In the press release Jago describes the game as a βcard-collecting role-playing gameβ.Ugh, no thanks. Sounds like you'll have to buy packs, so this will probably be riddled with micro-transactions. I'd much rather have a standard side-scrolling adventure game. I agree Fuzz. A game along the lines of Nintendo's Warioware series seems to be a much more accommodating fit for GPK. Weird, gross out, totally random, chaotic. That's the order of the day for the Warioware series, and that design model fits GPK's much better than an RPG.π

complete set one cost deal... artwork is quality, cool design, no shameless pandering Rittenhouse does this well. Their Lost in Space Archives boxed set has all 43 cards painted by a fan-favorite artist plus 3 autographs, 1 sketch, and 4 metallics, and if you buy 2 sets they guarantee you'll get the complete 8-card metallic set plus a bonus triple-autographed card. It's expensive at $200 but it's done right and the limited print run of 200 ensures value. Exactly what I'm talking about. A one with everything kinda deal. These sort of sets are starting to take over aspects of the card collectable market. Upper deck actually puts out a series of card games that all have this format.

Sad thing is, it would be so easy for topps to put out a classic 1-40a\1-40b GPK set. In a complete set one cost deal. They could even make it online order only, whatever. As long as the artwork is quality, has a decent cost, and has a cool new wave retro design packaging. No silly themes, no shameless pandering to certain political leanings, and full original series 1-9 style. I'm buying.π

Sometimes I'm inclined to believe topps is stuck in pop-culture-flavor-of-the-month mode as it relates to GPK anymore. I can only hope topps surprises us this year, but I very much doubt it. Again though, here's hoping.π

The silliness is that it was brought up as some kind of issue. Who the heck cares? There have been monster parodies in card sets for years. I read it as him making an observation. You know this is a message board where people should feel free to make statements and voice their opinion. So what's the difference if anyone cares or not? Thanks much for the defense on this one Steve. And yes, I was only making a basic observation on the set as a whole, nothing more, nothing less. And I apologize Slamjim if I offended with my comment. I fully believe as you do that any artist out there that wants to make a horror parody set can fully do so. Also, if you can actually get the ol' wheels of change a'clankin' at topps then power to you. My humble opinion, was that Pingitore has been out there with full pop-culture horror theme sets for a little while now, and he deserves his kudos for such, that's all.
