Topps just needs to reboot GPK entirely. Just start fresh with a series 1 set. Call it Garbage pail kids, that's it. Pretend nothing else came before it, including OS (to an extent only). Just like D.C comics did with new 52. Well, I guess rebirth would be the better D.C relaunch theme to use than new 52. And stay on that path with a series 2,3 ect.π I agree and use the same numbering system as OS 1-15 AND BNS 1-3 where each new set starts where the previous one ended and not starting back at 1 each new series like ANS 1-7 or each subset of each new series like the themed series That's right, the original numbering system would be a must. In fact, it would be really cool if topps just gave us an official os 16 release. Then, an official os styled series 17 and so forth from there. Starting the series 17 with the continued numbering up to that point and beyond for a series 18,19,20ect. Again, look at what D.C comics and marvel have both done latley going Bach to original issues numbering for all their respective books.πππ

Topps keeps overstating the market with GPK sets no fan really wants to buy. Please, for the love of god Topps get a clue. We GPK fans aren't interested in this well...garbage.π.

This series 2 set looks fantastic Ping. Glad to see some real GPK art out there. Everything your doing, is what Topps won't do. May their loss, be your gain my friend.ππ

These aren't to bad. But, not great either. GPK's that refuse to be counterculture or dark-humored or hard-edged are just going to be weak sauce. The robo-cop parody is nice and all. But a pop-gun instead of a real (albeit futuristic in design) gun like robo-cop uses in the movies, TV show ect.π.

The beaver-toothed one is mildly amusing. But why not just "commit-to-the-bit" and just make that one a beaver-human GPK altogether instead of just having beaver teeth? All and all, this is just another Topps cash-in. Damn shame.π

I hope these are die cut and in wax packs. Please oh please tiny baby in a manger Jesus. I agree 100%. If this is truly going to be a GPK classic set, die cut and wax packs are a must.

This has me legitimately interested. This sounds like it could be anything. Maybe even ANS GPK's remade in Pound-style art.π

Topps never seems to miss a beat cashing-in on all the latest pop-culture spoofs. To bad Topps is giving us this, instead of a standard (classic) style GPK set. Something we haven't seen in quite some time.π«π

Topps is still after them scheckles, eh? An 80's themed set is right up GPK's alley and yet, Topps still misses the mark.π

But it's me or this one could have waited at least one more series to be published? this one and the sub (Brent's also) in the same series, it does not look good! I agree. I don't like the party favor concept at all. The repeated eye stretch just makes it worse. The art is good but that's not enough. Yeah...his ears could've been showing popping off the sides of his head instead. Or his ear drums blowing out of his ears from blowing so hard. But, that would just be more unneeded gross-out. So yeah, the ears popping off the sides of his head would be better. Also, the only issus I have with the submarine one, is the eye should've been all grey(metal) until the actual eyeball.

Yeah...a lot of these concepts and overal design are nice. But, they all seem to have a color-washed, low-detail look. Just seems a little strange

Thanks much for the kind words gpk1982. And kudos to your comments, welcome to the U.G. The key problems with BNS is the following, to me anyway. 1. To damn big of a base-set. 2. To many parallel's. 3. To many insert's. 4. Sub-par quality offerings with bonus boxes. 5. To many pop-culture spoofs, not enough original abstract or risque concepts like Pound used to crank out. In short, more is less and original concepts beat the quick fix spoofs.

Collecting should be for fun, first and foremost. In fact, anything entertainment wise (collecting/Gaming/Movies ect) should again be first and foremost for fun. But, investment in said products is important too. Topps are a big-business, and the bottom line is the only thing they fully understand at all times. We GPK fans, old school/new school alike are nothing but numbers and statistics, they go over flowcharts to try and understand us.
Extortion and debt go hand-in-hand and Topps knows knows very, very well. Fun is what we love GPK's for, but investment sadly, is what Topps loves. If a collector can turn good profit from his GPK's, more power to him. Nothing wrong with good independent entrupunerism. After all, if you can get paid for doing (or in this case collecting) what you love, you might as well get paid.

Well said Stizzco, well said. Your hobby should bring you more joy than it should grief. I've actually spent less than $700 combined for BNS1 and BNS2 thanks to a combination of friends on the inside at the retail level and e-bay wheeling and dealing. Point being, you don't have to spend alot to still collect on your favorite hobbies.
Would'nt hurt to do so if you can/could afford to do so. More power to those guys for real. Topps is at least seeing GPK's a hot commodity worthy of the all-star treatment.

Well said on everything so far Rus. Hobbies have a way of making a pauper out of you for sure. I'm an avid Nintendo fanboy, and fellow collectors try to tell me that hobby will bankrupt you. Seriously? I've spent less in five years on Nintendo e-shop, 3DS and Wii games than I have in one year of BNS GPK's. Movies and Video gaming is quite cheap if you budget correctly that is, than card collecting. I still buy alot of the newest Magic: the gathering too. Again, being frugal, you can make it work. I try to collect alot of marvel and D.C comics stuff as well. I still spend less in a year combined on the rest of those hobbies, than I have so far with BNS GPK.

Ping,Simko,Layron,Engstrom and Gross have done a fine job with the set. Alot of the concepts are good, alot less than so. Overall BNS2 is unique and a definite step-up from BNS1 for sure. I'm willing to hold-out untill BNS3 to give topps that ol' third-strike.
The best thing about BNS2 is that I don't see any big-rush to competition. The C-name sucker-punch in this set is exactly the kinda controversy I had figured topps would throw at us. To be more accurate, I knew topps would have a suprise of sorts with BNS2. The C-name sucker-punch was exactly that though.

I feel your pain Cory. After seeing most of what BNS2 is offering, I feel half-tempet to throw in the ol' sponge as well. Topps knows which way the wind is blowing, but don't care. They just love to keep extorting GPK, WP, and hell all card collectors in general with an endless glut of inserts/sub-sets. I mean, for every good GPK in this set, we seem to have two bad. The curse just continues.
