As a UK collector I would like a similar set to As american as apple pie but with a british theme I'm curious to see what the creators of GPK would imagine when they think of Britain 100 cards with people drinking tea in crappy weather would beat any of the trump cards so count me in.

I picked up Slimy Sam, so he's off the list. Still need Fat Matt and Fryin' Brian from OS1, and Charred Chad and Doug Plug from OS2. A Fat Matt PSA 9 just sold for $80, and Fryin' Brian for $122! I don't get it, as I have been building this set over the years, paying about $20-25 per card. I'll pay $35-40 for each of the OS1, or I have these 9s for trade: Loony Lenny, Nerdy Norm, Nervous Rex, New Wave Dave, Graffiti Petey, and Frigid Bridget. You lucked out apparently. So many now are at 100 each. Nick and Adam listed 300-400 each, its madness. I'm still trying to finish up my 10 set without having to take a second mortgage. I thought I would pick up some placeholder 9s but last time I looked it was way out of what I expected.

I just threw up in my mouth.. Goldberg’s are very out of place I feel and lame but who am I. I’m just bitter because I’ll never pull an auto lol. Maybe a set without parody’s but nostalgic GPK’s that truly could fit side by side with the old sets Ha ha! Yeah, I thought the Goldbergs sitcom cards were a wasted opportunity in the 80s set. The Goldbergs isn't a very good show, and is not something we are nostalgic for. I'd rather have had cards for Diff'rent Strokes, Facts of Life, etc. Plus, it seems like they put the Goldbergs in the set not because they thought the GPK fans actually want it, but because they have some kind of friendly connection to the show's creator. WTF do I care if Joe Simko or whomever is friends with Adam Goldberg? If I end up buying the new set, I will remove the Goldbergs cards and consider it a 162-card set. I really don't get the Goldbergs connection either. I watched a few of the episodes, nothing great. Also the youngest kid on the show is in middle school by the 2nd episode so I wouldn't imagine GPKs being any type of plot point. Could be wrong but not worth sitting through anymore episodes to find out. There is an Adam Bomb sticker on the door to the kids room. Not sure thats a good enough reason for Goldbergs to infest multiple sets but apparently someone thinks so.

Also, some of the concepts are weird. Why is Michael Stype supposed to be Rip Van Winkle? I'm guessing because Rip Van winkle fell into a deep sleep and Michael Stype's band name is R.E.M which is the phase of sleep you go through when you dream Oh, right. Well that makes sense to me now that it's been explained. But it needed to be explained! So either it isn't apparent or me is a idiut. I didn't get it either, but I'm a moron. Your mileage may vary.

I would go with commission sketch they give the character a little flavor when displayed. The wrapper art is cool, a person may even be inclined to make a wrapper placard oneself with a little ingenuity and resin😁 Another idea is using a foreign card something with cool border or font. I really love rainbows as it gives me an option to not buy a whole set of the series but just the characters I love although the only rainbows I have is chrome and bns1 I still love the options it gives me. That's how I feel about rainbows too. I don't like the new 80s set on the whole, but really like a few cards from it so am putting together those rainbows instead of buying the set. Of course it's getting super expensive, but I'm enjoying it! How do sketches work? Are the artists who did the original cards allowed to do sketches of them? Like, could Brent Engstrom do a sketch of Centi-Pete for me? Or is he forbidden by Topps? And how much do commissioned sketches typically cost? Thanks! The artists get blank cards to sketch on in addition to the ones they provide topps for the packs. So you have the same sketch card from the particular series but it's direct from the artist and exactly what you want. The artists have a list of forbidden subjects but I don't know if that translates to commissioned sketch cards. No Star Wars, KISS, there are a few more but I'm drawing a blank.

I have one he needs and he won't do a deal so I'm not sure he really wants it. Came up with a fair trade but he outright refused so who knows. What !!!! You cray cray. I want I need. Give it to me give it to me now I had a fair trade and you blew me off so you must not want it very bad. Adam Bomb final, Cactus Carl final, Mona Loser final, 3 near mint Joe Blows, and John Pound (move in with me for a month or so) and in return for that little bit of stuff you get a sweet auto. I'm bending over backwards in this deal and you just really aren't even seeing the big picture in what you get out of this. Is it the Joe Blows? I can maybe go down to 2 but you have to meet me half way.

Being fairly new at this- but have been obsessively collecting this or that (baseball/ coins etc..) for 30 years. THIS is the reason I’m on here to learn from you guys. I appreciate reading these. Not to mention I am buying 10’s from 4sharpcorners and I don’t want to kick myself a few years down the road. I started with series 2 just to makes sure I’m truly serious to get at series 1!! Just my first series 1 number 11 was expensive yikes! After reading this I’m honestly thinking...should I be buying old packs or these PSA’s?? Either way I have fun but am I wasting my money 💰 tell me more about 4 sharpcorners does PSA ‘gift’ 10’s because of the business they do with them?? I don't have any evidence other than my own dealings so take this as the free advice on a message board that it is. 4Scamcornners does thousands of grades per month from PSA so to keep that business they grade on a higher curve than your average joe collector. A 4sharp PSA 10 could easily be a 8 or 9 if submitted by mere common folk. If I get some time I'll post a 4sharp 10 that I got. Just for fun I'll submit it, bet it won't go above an 8. The top of the card is shredded. They don't tell you whats on the back (none of the early PSA OS1 glossys are labeled as glossy, they started that later) and their pics are purposely crap. But they deal with so much volume there they do actually have legitimate 10s, just need some good luck. There is a really great post on here from an awesome member who put together a full glossy and matte OS1 gem set. Very drool worthy and has some good advice, mainly box/packs breaking not really the way to go. He started in 2010 so I imagine its way more expensive now. Outside 4sharp there are several regular sellers on ebay that mostly deal with GPK. The prices are high but they will deal with you, especially if you get multiples. garbagepailkids.proboards.com/thread/17489/unveiling-176-os1-gems?page=1&scrollTo=224200Feel free to PM if you want more info.

My biggest problem with 4sharpcorners is that SO MANY slabs have scratches. I have even emailed them about it, but they do not accept returns. Whenever I buy from them now, I zoom in and put my face up to the screen to fully inspect the case! They must have some lighting that doesn't show the scratches, although some times you can actually see them. I can only speculate about the grades they receive, but they have like 200,000+ transactions on eBay (and that doesn't include their business outside of eBay). So, think about how much business they give to PSA. There must be a little pressure to make their biggest client happy. Think of the ratings agencies during the housing boom and bust. OS1 pack prices have gotten out of control too. In my opinion, it is way too risky to buy those packs for like $100, with the chance of gum and wax stains. Plus, I've opened OS1 packs over the past few years, and you risk getting OC cards or even a corner ding or two. If you can find packs for under $50, I think that might be worth the risk. Yup. I would never buy a pack to open it now, just too expensive. One of the reasons OS1 gems are so hard to come by is the set was printed by the B team so the miscuts are very pervasive. Seen people drop massive money on boxed to crack only to have the cards miscut to oblivion.

This was a great article you put together. I heard the word family many times as well from the artists and most of not all the collections It was an incredible overwhelming time , and we all were so close like we knew each other our whole lives. I’ve been rambling and posting every chance I get , that’s how inspired and privlaged I was to be part of it. Was definily one of the best times I’ve had I’m my entire life Hope all and New Collectors will return next year to see For your self. I can garuntee you will not be disappointed. Thanks Jeff GPKNEWS I wish I went. I'm planning to go to the Philly convention in April. Who's going to that one? You'll get to meet me, and as a small added bonus you'll get to go to the convention if that's your sort of thing I dunno. Get to meet Seymourbarf live and in person??? Count me in! Let us know what kind of barf themed cosplay you will be in.

So, it IS the same artist that did Flo Worm. I guess big hands and feet are her style. I do really like Flo Worm. It's the same artist that needs to go the fugg back to art school. This is a good example of go back and try again. More like let the dream die and do something else with your life.

Finding the most comfortable position when getting bent over a table and pounded. Those buying the online releases get the dipped-in-sand version. Especially this latest valentines incest set. Brothers and sisters, sisters and sisters. Madness. They all get what they deserve.

Hey Keith, I told you before I'm not gonna tell you again leave Sandberg out of this!!
I agree with you though, I'm really close to finishing the set, about 12 more to go, but the prices are way too crazy now I don't think I'll finish. Just not worth it. There are some major baseball cards you can get for 500 when people are asking the same for a weird Wendy. Also PSA grade is based on the submitter, I've had flawless cards come in at 9 while stuff that shouldn't have hit a 8 get 10s all day (4sharpcorners I'm looking at you). BGS is way better but since they are stricter a lot less people submit, even though in reality a 9 from BGS can beat plenty of PSA10s I've seen.
But finishing these last few cards I'm not really going to spend 6k+ its insane. I have a few doubles to trade so I might make up some ground but really unless things in the market change significantly I'll just give up on this set, not to mention the people that might want to get started on this, is it really worth 20k? (Just an estimate at 250 per card).

I display my GPK in 9-pocket pages and binders. OS1-15 fits in nicely into 4 one-inch binders for me. That's considering the fact that I collect OS1 Glossy, OS1 Matte, OS2 Matte, OS2 Glossy Tessie, OS2 Glossy Tessie, OS3 No Copyright, and OS3 Copyright as distinct sets. Even the glossy Tessies? That's the full run real deal OS2 set right there. Do you have the full variant set of all those or still collecting?

Curt is in his forever home, sad to be the barer of bad news. The guy who owns him does not feel pity, or remorse and will not sell ever. He has been known to trade on the rare occasion, so there is a bit of hope.
