I just checked on the internet and some say that the second album had less success than the first... It could explain why Avimages eventually decided to stop the series...

Just found this video on Youtube :
I didn't remember there was a video clip at this time (or was it made later ?). Anyway, the lyrics and the video are really cheesy...

Hey kalas Pepe is right, but I don't know if is a serious or a funny article, probably funny . Pepe do you know how the controversy ended? Can remember the newspapers and the TV news talking about Les Crados phenomenon and how some people were saying these cards were a danger for kids. A debate took place in the National Assembly. Even le Commandant Cousteau wrote an open letter to denounce these cards, saying to parents : "if you let your kids collect these obscene cards, don't be surprised if they let themselves drift and eventually take heroin"... I was 10 when the two albums were released and I have to say that Les Crados had a real success here in France. Every person from my generetion still remember these cards today. So, how all the controversy ended ? Well, the two albums were released in 1989 with 386 cards and Avimages (Les Crados publisher) stopped the series... and accordingly the controversy ended too. Still don't understand why they decided to stop because the success was so huge...

Great addition, Francesco ! The magazine cover refers to the controversy caused in France by Les Crados release at the time. The article's title says : "Garbage Pail Kids affair : the pooh pudding shitty trial"

Ah ah, I was watching "Police Academy 2" on TV yesterday and this scene made me think about Sprayed Wade (OS5) : The movie was released in 1985... When I was a kid, my favourite character was Jones, the human beat box... Moreover, he was fighting like Bruce Lee...

And what about this one ? New Wave Dave (OS1) seems to be a reference to Dave Gahan and his band, Depeche Mode which was one of the most influent bands of the "New Wave" era... 1984 is the year of their first success in the US...

Hey guys, I'm not sure about this one but the cat featured on Junky Jeff/Sticky Stan card (OS1) always made me think about Heathcliff (a skinny version of Heathcliff actually)... I never read the comic strip but I was loving the animated series that started in 1984 ("Les Entrechats" in French...). What do you think ? -pepe-
