Make you put your hands up.. I don't know what to think of this sketch. It's kind of like a blurry mess with some oil paint on it. I like it though.

Just as an odd note, on my desktop this picture is right side up and on my I pad it is upside down. It is right side up on Photo bucket as well.

Most of Zapata's returns are very good. The guache art style that he paints them in works better on some characters than others though, but I've always like them. Sometimes much more interesting that the exact recreations.
I thought it was pretty good of him to do lots of color sketches for the packs this time too. Not a ton of detail on those, but better than most of the regular BNS2 sketches. The quality was pretty low this time around; my guess is that Topps didn't give them enough time because of the quick turnaround from BNS1 to BNS2.

I definitely like the abstract look some of his sketches have. Spot on in the fact that it works with some more than others. This one is tough to nail down in regards to exactly what mediums he used. I'm guessing most of this was done with markers and then highlighted with paint. It's tough to tell because whatever it is seemed to soak into the card. It is a bit of a different look. Could be the card stock but I have to imagine Topps has been using the same card stock for at least the past two or three releases.

Thanks to Matixones, Blacksunshine and christy1639 for helping boost the numbers here. Still looking for some that are minty as well centered but these certainly help the collection. Whats left of the golds. I'm about down to the keepers but any decent trades will be considered...especially if you got some OS1 singles. Beautiful Nick/Eddie is one of my faves plus Eddie is my name!

Just a few more....I wish I could have some more of these Wheatons from BNS1 Potter was my fav from BNS3 I missed out on an awesome Frankie mini but I did get these... It was nice to see Wheaton back to killin it with the minis. Well that's about it for 2013. Look for me in the Spring. Maybe I can put my jig saw to use and build the display case I always wanted. And if you have that one of a kind Lynch or killer sketch that needs a new home, I would be happy to have it here in the collection. *Mods if these pictures came through in too large of a size feel free to resize, what I see on the iPad seems to differ from the desktop

I haven't looked at your page for a very long time you have a great sketch collection I love all of the lynch's from flashback 1 that you have!! I'm just now seeing for the first time today that picture you posted for me of all of your Lynch's in a circle now I kind of want to see all of your official sketch cards altogether you must have quite a big collection by now!
I still pick up an occasional sketch now and again but haven't been posting them on here since my collection thread vanished sometime last year. If someone here feels the need to delete my thread then I don't need to waste my time posting here.
The offer you made on those two sketch cards stands as long as they're still posted on eBay.

Fall 2014 Update Summer was busy. Lots of work, packing and not enough golf. It all came and went pretty quickly. But now that the moving truck is gone and the boxes are unpacked I must say Cincinnati is starting to feel like home. Some good sketch cards came across ebay this summer. Cebollero seemed to paint the same awesome Nasty Nick return about three times. Not being able to grab one of those, I settled for this creepy rendition of Potty Scotty. [/p]
I also came across this FB1 Layron Wayne was selling. I have been looking to add a nice full color Layron to my collection for quite some time.

Lizzy also decided to part with her Cheap Toy inspired Potter return and I decided to give it a good home.

I also had a bit of the cheap toy bug which involves night sweats, hallucinations and cold chills, all fueled by the anticipation of another rare popping up on ebay.
My Cheap Toy collection:

Here are some random unoficials that popped up as well:

Lastly something I grabbed from the great Bukimi Kun swoon this summer fueled by Eric Nilla:

Hopefully the new release at the end of the month brings some new styles to the GPK sketch world. Having gotten a preview of what Graham has in store I am very excited!

Fall 2015 UpdateIt has been a year since my last collection update. A New job, a new home and some new (to you) pick ups. As far as collecting, the last year has felt slow. In hindsight, I had a little bit of a cheap toy habit over the summer and I picked up a couple nice sketch cards. My goal has been to stay true to my quality over quantity theory and I think I did a good job. I picked this up to go with my Cracked Crystal figure. Great Card and I like Potter's use of colored pencil. Its getting so that I can't even remember what series some of these cards are from. If I have a moment when I care I am forced to go to Aaaron's site and scroll through the releases to see. None the less...gotta add me some Wheaton when I can. Best Wacky Jackie sketch ever. I have to admit that when I saw the painting that GPK Dave did for Glock of the CT box art I had to have a print. I was a little slow on the prints and couldn't get one and Dave wouldn't paint me a new one. So I left it alone. Some time later Marmac stated doing sketches on Cheap Toys stock and I asked if he could do the box art. At first I suggested a double card sketch and it evolved into him having a larger card printed. This may be one of the bigger sketch cards you will see at 5"x7". Here is the back of the card. The 30th anniversary set came...and it went but I was really impressed by a sketch card artist who was new to the series. Dan B W did for the anniversary set what Chenduz and Potter did for previous releases by freshening things up with his style.
The story behind this return (that you don't care about) is that Cardgarys had a Juicy Lucy sketch by Dan for sale on ebay but I felt it was overpriced. I tried to haggle but got nowhere. I reached out to Dan and was able to snag one of his last return cards for the series. I took a while to think of what I wanted and how to make the card a little bit different. I wasn't disappointed and was glad he took his time to deliver what is probably my favorite sketch card in my collection. Like most of the artist I have dealt with, Dan is a class act. All during this time I was buying a Cheap Toy here and there. I thinned out a few collections, became a third or fourth owner of some and even happened onto some fresh toys on ebay. Though I am not happy with how most of my pictures of them came out I will post these two and work on retaking the rest. A Series 2 Alice or Novo Red Alice if you will: And some unopened packs. There is a Neon Yellow Janie, Neon Red Heather and Chris and a Magenta Chris. So until I can take some pictures of the rest of my toys that I like or feel like getting some bumps from a tired old CT box, that is it. Thanks for looking.
