OMG I cannot believe that I didn't get that this was supposed to be Pee Wee! I totally see the similarity now. I just thought it was a crappy GPK face... which it still is. Ham Actor / Pee Wee

Hey guys, I'm not sure about this one but the cat featured on Junky Jeff/Sticky Stan card (OS1) always made me think about Heathcliff (a skinny version of Heathcliff actually)... I never read the comic strip but I was loving the animated series that started in 1984 ("Les Entrechats" in French...). What do you think ? -pepe-

I don't think I would have gotten that in a million years. I used to watch the ish out of the Heathcliff cartoon too.

And what about this one ? New Wave Dave (OS1) seems to be a reference to Dave Gahan and his band, Depeche Mode which was one of the most influent bands of the "New Wave" era... 1984 is the year of their first success in the US...

Ah ah, I was watching "Police Academy 2" on TV yesterday and this scene made me think about Sprayed Wade (OS5) : The movie was released in 1985... When I was a kid, my favourite character was Jones, the human beat box... Moreover, he was fighting like Bruce Lee...

Another one thanks to this EXCELLENT website dedicated to Les Crados : www.lescrados.com/ This drawing by the french comics artist Jean Solé was used for the cover of a famous comics magazine ("L'Echo des Savanes") in 1978. The page is extracted from his comics "Carnets intimes" and Solé explains how he discovered that his drawing concept was used for a GPK card (OS5 Handy Randy / Jordan Nuts) : In the early 90's, the Crados phenomenon spread in schools playgrounds. The symbolic card of this series, from the USA, was a non-signed plagiarism of my "L'Echo des savanes" cover. Encouraged by my colleagues, I took legal proceedings. Then I learnt that the anonymous person who made this plagiarism was Art Spiegelman who was doing there a casual job. Art, that I admire, confirmed the information to me.

Both are obvious Swamp Thing homages, but I always so a resemblence. Michelle Muck Muckman TMNT Bonus! Muckman had a skullcap you could lift off and pour Mutagen ooze into his head, and it comes pouring out his mouth and belly.
