Approach with extreme caution, if it is someone you met on ebay, they are lying and are planning on robbing you because if they actually had a complete set of Bukimi they would've already put singles on ebay or the entire set on ebay.
Just be very very carefull, I have not heard of anyone having a complete set, I personally only have 2 cards and pretty much everyone's supply came fom the same person.
I also know a contact that was relentless in his search for those in Japan and had no luck finding them.
If you get them that would be great, but be very carefull. make the purchase in person or make him setup a private listing for you on ebay and pay via paypal and purchase buyer protection so you can get your money back if something goes wrong.
But again if this person knows about ebay and you met the person on ebay, they are lying to you and are going to rob you.
Best of luck with the purchase and I hope it goes well.

Also, ask for lots of pictures and make sure they are not stock photos, if the seller refuses to send you pictures of the entire set, they don't have it.

Sounds exciting!!! Reminds me of the news when the Cartoon was found! I think you just might have found one of the guys with a set. Is the set from the USA? or UK.. I just noticed your location says UK.

i met the guy on another message board, he is from the usa and recently dug out a box of old garbage pail kids cards that he collected when he was a kid including the bukimis. he said his japanese friend back then had the full set of bukimis and gave them to him before he moved back to japan.
i have a feeling that he does not yet know much about these cards or how much they are worth.
i am waiting for a reply regarding the price, i dont think he is looking for more than $100-$200 for the whole set.

he's lying. He was on this board a couple of months ago and had that same story of how his friend gave them to him before he moved back to japan. we all requested he posted pics and he refused. If he hasnt sent you a pic of the whole set yet im sure he doesnt have them.

Come to think of it, that story does sound on the familiar side. I wonder what his username was here? I found it. His name was wackycarlos and this is the only post he made here. Here's a quote. I dug up old GPK stickers collection 1 from my old childhood found in the attic of my late mother. Also found some GPK stickers from the second series that I did not complete. In the box I found a complete set of Bukimi Kun cards in good condition collected by my childhood friend Masanori Watabene. He gave me his collection shortly before moving back to Japan. I also found some Wacky Packages stickers that brought back childhood memories. I would love to part with my GPK or Bukimi Kun cards if anyone is interested. Please let me know what you are willing to part with. I am starting a collection of Wacky Packages sticker collection from the early 80's. Thanks, Carlos

There was also a seller from the UK a few years ago that claimed to have an unopened wax bax of Bukimi Kun...he wanted $5000 for the box...I then asked him for pics and more details...he refused...he then vanished...galaxy2069

I don't know what to believe. What's the point of joining the site again as carlos instead of wackycarlos like he did before? Why didn't he post pics until now? If he was having trouble with that sort of thing I'm sure somebody could have helped him out with posting them. Bottom line, I just don't want anybody getting ripped off.

Ya, Carlos's Bukimi Kun cards are like Bigfoot or the Lockness Monster; atleast now we have a sighting. (where are the other 216 cards, why leave those out of the pics?) Also, not very communicative, really not doing much to explain himself or up-sell his cards. No, "no, seriously", "Hey guys, here is some picks of my Bukimi Kun cards, what do you think?" or is he allergic to eBay? If it walks like a duck... Just don't end up Western Unioning money to Ethiopia or Kasikstan and you should be fine.

Decent to average Photoshop glare effects (my Canadian Yellow Alice Island is more convincing )...why is he holding them out like that ...just scan them in high-res at the local print-shop/kinko's...the text on the Dizzy Dave is completely pasted into place and then skewed (and the black text on the other 3 examples is much darker than it should be)...Do all Bukimi Kun have green logos? Those packs look like refrigerator magnets... OH! and the Japanese writing on the back of the stickers is IDENTICAL on ALL 3!!...Does anybody own any of these singles to compare?...cheers, mr. galaxy

Just to be clear...I am NOT doubting the authenticity of the photos...I think they are in fact 'real' BK... I just don't think he has all that he says - nor is he selling them (nor are they really HIS :lol1: ) But the pictures are 'unedited' in my opinion.

good point about the identical-ness of the backs. But i'm with Nico, i don't think the fronts are fabricated. If he replies to my email with the favor i requested, then we'll know what's up.

Bukimi Kun can also be fabricated via software and then printed on high-quality color printers (and then mounted and trimmed)..and THEN photographed...wow, those borders sure are WHITE & CRISP (like me)...this could also be the case here...but back to Cheap Toys!...cheers
