Hey GPKWare - I notice that on page 15 the card for Lame Lem/Edward Hopper is backwards - have you noticed any other differences? (Other than the obvious language thing!!)

Here is an item even more elusive than the Havurat Hazevel series 3 album. This popped up on ebay about 4 or 5 years ago. The description in the auction listing said that this was a 12" record single. Whether or not it's from the Garbage Pail Kids movie soundtrack is unconfirmed! *image watermarked -TCT

for all you foriegn gpk junkies like me. my auction did bring to light that 2 more series 3 albums are in private collections in Isreal. Now if we could see a few pics to confirm/compare that would be great. And the series 2 albums seem to be "easier" to come by. The fact that I,TCT and few others have a series 2 album and there were 2 for sale at the same time on ebay this week. I pressed the few Isrealie bidders for more info but did not score any new info. It would seem a few private collectors may hold some insight to these series sets and such questions as numbering etc. I invited one to share with us so time will tell. As for the Offcial reserve...... I was willing to pass this along for 500 US. I was shocked that it even made a 300 bid. So for now it stays with me. Sad to think i gave up my Bukimi and sereis 2 Cheapie. This has to be my last shinning piece in m collection. Thanks for the pic TCT. It has been some time since i GPK'd. Money is tighter than ever as well as my time. Looking forward to some new pieces to add to my collection soon. Talk to you guys and gals later. GPKWARE

(Other than the obvious language thing!!) nothing but the usual printing error like banner problems. I am working on a fix for my cinci.rr. web page they upgraded and i dont know how to re-publish to front page on their new system. That way you could check out my other foriegn albums i have scanned in. Check out my photo-bucket if interested for now.

Tct, i've had a lot of cards in my collections and the most of the cards have different backs.I don't know why, but i can ask to my israelian contact.I will let you know. The real question is: we could consider each different back like a variation or not? If we do, this collection is extremely difficult to put together By the way, each different writing on the front card make a variation card for me. This edition is amazing.I love the israelian cards

Assemble a core set of that type (Good luck!!!!) then add in the variation backs. I also have a contact person in Israel I could ask, but I seriously doubt he would have an answer.

I have all the information about the Israeli series, and almost all of the cards, so so ask away I'm still interested in buying or trading for the few cards I'm missing by the way.

Hi, I replied to the PM. Now here are some answers to some questions raised in this thread: How rare are these "promo" items really? They should be pretty rare. I don't even know if there's a complete listing of everything that was produced. I personally never collected them and not planning to. I even won an inflatable boat as it was one of the prizes advertized on the back cover. Hehe, good times... It should be the boat that appears on the series 3 album's back cover, which means that he actually got all 20 puzzle pieces for puzzle #8... very impressive. It also means that he cut the puzzle page so he could send it to the distributor to get the prize. What a shame... because of this it's probably impossible to get all puzzle pieces today - people simply sent them away for prizes. Galaxy, series 1 = 24 pages covers not counted. series 2 = 28 pages covers not included series 3 = 28 pages covers not included(pages27-28 must have been a mailin add becuase it's mostly cut out/only about 30% from the binding is left.) That means you're missing the middle pages of each album. It was said something here about the series 2 middle pages (with the mechanic), but every album had them, not only series 2, so add 4 pages to the count above for each series. These pages had three puzzles (total of 9 puzzles for all series), and each puzzle was made up of 20 cards. If you completed a puzzle, you won a prize, that's why these pages are missing from most albums - people pulled them out so they can send them to get the prizes. The cards themselves were smaller in size, and made from cardboard, they weren't stickers. You had to cut the top and bottom of the card, apply glue, and glue it in place. These are the only cards that had something on their backs, it was text explaining the "double prize" system. And you're right about the cut page of series 3 - there was a competition back then - that page contained a place to draw your own GPK and mail it to some youth magazine (the page in my album is complete, luckily I don't draw very well ). I still remember the winning drawing, it was pretty good now i would like to know whats up with the numbers skipped? What would make a whole set for each series? Anybody have a card number that fits outside of the lists i provided? ie 169-228 303-400 610-669 728-800 977-1036 169-228 - the puzzle cards for the middle pages of series 1. 610-669 - the puzzle cards for the middle pages of series 2. 977-1036 - the puzzle cards for the middle pages of series 3. 303-400, 728-800 - never existed. They skipped those. Tct, i've had a lot of cards in my collections and the most of the cards have different backs.I don't know why, but i can ask to my israelian contact.I will let you know. The real question is: we could consider each different back like a variation or not? I don't see why you'd do that. The backs are meaningless. Now two questions of my own: By the way, each different writing on the front card make a variation card for me. This edition is amazing.I love the israelian cards Can you explain what you mean by different writing? click to linkto slide show gpkware Is this still viewable somewhere?

Thanks for the information. Interesting how those puzzles/prizes created a bunch of rare cards. Funny how things work sometimes. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

Hey GpkIsrael a lot of people consider the back also (e.g. the back of the brasilian gang do lixo cards if you collect also the foreign cards). I personally do not consider them like variations... About the different writings, some card has the copyright in the front, some not, and i consider these variation cards. If i'm right some card has 3 writing variations also. About the pages of the puzzle cards,i uploaded something on my topic time ago. Thanks for your informations!

Interesting how those puzzles/prizes created a bunch of rare cards. Funny how things work sometimes. Yes, and the reason for this rarity is two fold: 1. The publisher intentionally distributed some of the puzzle cards in very low quantities, so only few people will win prizes. 2. Most of the people that got the rare cards completed the puzzles and sent they're collection to the publisher to get the prizes, so these cards are gone now. Hey GpkIsrael a lot of people consider the back also (e.g. the back of the brasilian gang do lixo cards if you collect also the foreign cards). I personally do not consider them like variations... In the Israeli series, you simply can't consider them as variations. If you'll take 10 identical cards, you'll probably get 10 back variations. The reason for this is that the backs of the Israeli cards have nothing to do with GPK, they simply feature the logos of the various 3rd party companies that manufactured the paper sheet that you put on backs of stickers. And they always cut them in different ways, so even if the logos are of the same company, they'll appear in different locations on the backs, so it's pointless to think about cataloging these or collecting them. About the different writings, some card has the copyright in the front, some not, and i consider these variation cards. I don't know anything about that. Personally, what I would consider a collecting-worthy variation, is only things like the US OS2 Schizo FRAN "triplet", which has some sort of meaning. The Israeli series had no such meaningful variations. Do you remember if the packs were sold in some type of display box? As far as I remember, there weren't any boxes in the Israeli series. However, I'm not 100% sure about that.
