Let’s Talk!
What are you GPK Missed Connections?
So we all know that in out hobby most rare items don’t last long out in the wild. So I want to know what RARE GPK item that was in your price range. That was available for a long time. That you eye fugged for ever but never sold so you always said aaawww it’ll be there the next time when you went to buy it. Then POOF! When you decide to finally pull the trigger it was gone. We aren’t talking items that were available when you weren’t collecting so don’t say I really missed out on OS1 Final art but I wasn’t collecting at the time. No Shiz! A lot if us missed out on stuff because we weren’t around! This is for the Rare item you took for granted thinking it’s just sitting there waiting for me and no one else wants it. I have two myself and here they are:
Pat of Gold Final Art by Layron Dejarnette I eye fugged this for years! Well this week I decided to finally pop for it and Poof! Like a ninja in the night gone! Luckily I know the person who bought it and he’s a good guy. I’m happy for him but pizzed at myself for slackin’!
Jack Snack Final Art by Layron Dejarnette Same exact situation just a couple weeks ago! This was one of the last BNS pieces that I had a chance to own both the concept by Mark Pingitore and the Final by Layron plus the proof card for each that would have been 3 sets of that combo. Sadly this time I don’t know who purchased Jack hopefully he’s in a good home.
So what is your GPK Missed Connection?

Mark’s original The Fly final, and Mark’s HK3 Preserved Pam final. I loved them both, and even reserved The Fly. But back then, I felt a lot of guilt for spending money on art. So I let both pieces go. I’ve been kicking myself ever since. Seriously, a lot of times when I think about them, it makes me sick to my stomach. And I would pay thousands for either piece today.

Scrapped Brooke Final. I got outbidded at the last second. I think it just went a little over $200.

OS9 Scalped Ralph final art
I was watching this on ebay when it was listed by the Topps Vault. One of the corners had damage on it with the paint scraped off. I decided not to buy it because of that. Regretted it ever since. I would have been my first piece. Instead I went with OS5 Nasty Nancy and eventually sold it.
OS3 Roy Bot final art
I finally found out who owned this. I sent a high offer (higher than it was sold for I'm told) but it was already scooped up. Late to the party and now it's owned by a guy who will never let it go.

Not that I ever had a chance of owning Roy Bot, but at least I could always have delusional hope. And now that hope is dashed! Dashed like my poor rafting instructor’s head against the rocks that fateful September morning...

Sometimes I think you reveal to much self incriminating evidence not thinking about how long it’s been since you did it.

That really blows Cory but at least we know where Roy is and even though the framing isn’t cool looking we know Peter is legit and loves him as much as the rest of us would.

What makes you think it's Peter? Besides the fact that he owns pretty much everything, ha ha!

I surely hope you are not suggesting that foul play was afoot. There is no mystery here - my expert rafting instructor with over 20 years of experience, who had won four whitewater rafting competitions, simply fell from the raft he and I were in, and split his skull open on a big, pointy rock. So what if we were in calm waters, and there were no other witnesses? Or that one of the oars went missing, never to be found? It was an accident, case closed!

I like I said before just because it isn’t in a collection thread doesn’t mean you’ve seen everything someone has.

I'd rather have it.
