I think the artwork on the piece is great, but the buyer didn’t buy a Garbage Pail Kid. It’s just a really cool artwork of Freddie Kruger.
I agree! But who knows, maybe this was a particularly sentimental or nostalgic piece for the buyer. Maybe he was younger, and didn’t get into GPK until like series 11 or 12. So Claude Flesh was like that guy’s Dead Ted or Roy Bot. Could you imagine that tragedy? Depressing as hell, ha ha!
No matter what, this was an iconic piece as far as the later series are concerned, and I don’t think it has reset the market for later-series finals. If the seller got anywhere close to $15k for it, then a huge congrats to him, but I think this was a fluke and that the vast majority of OS10-15 pieces wouldn’t fetch at the high-end more than $2500-$3000.

I must have blocked out this card ever existing. Not my cup of tea. Crazy price! Should I be putting my collection up for sale and buying a house with the proceeds?!
UKM: Well, kind of working

morghar: Hi, I'm selling some of my old toys and I have these plastic toys. I'm from Canada and most of these are from series 2 it seems except one. Are they worth a lot? Here's a picture: photos.app.goo.gl/cR6zipehwmorDyRD9

seymourbarf: If you’re talking about my manhood, the joke’s on you - it fell off!

Dxtc0187: Not true! I've heard Barf can only measure things that are that small! He's only seen thicker on his pc!
Mar 17, 2022 13:27:35 GMT -5
seymourbarf: Probably not on this board. I don’t have a way to measure something that small, and no one else really comes to this board anymore. You would have better luck asking your question on the new GPKUG site. Good luck!

drunkken9b: Thank you. I'll take a look at the new board. I saw that website and the 1/32", but I'm measuring cards that are 1/64" or 0.015" which makes me think I bought some counterfeit cards? Any chance someone could measure card thickness and verify this?
Mar 8, 2022 0:12:53 GMT -5
seymourbarf: As for card thickness, I’m not sure this is official, but I am seeing a measurement of 1/32nd of an inch: www.wgpkr.com/GPK/US/

seymourbarf: Hey, this is the old message board. It’s pretty much shut down. The new board is here: www.gpkug.com/

drunkken9b: Hey all, I'm new here and guess I can't post stuff yet, not sure? But one question for the group - can someone tell me exactly how thick a GPK card should be? I came across some cards on ebay that seemed too thin to be genuine.

Game8: I’m sure he has some gems in there. Let alone unpublished stuff
Feb 18, 2022 10:49:34 GMT -5
seymourbarf: That is a good point. I wonder just what is in his private collection. I am sure he has pieces that would make my jaw drop. I would probably die from the overwhelming desire to own at least a few of them!
Feb 18, 2022 10:04:36 GMT -5
Game8: I would definitely buy more if it were pieces I really wanted. But what he has left is in his private collection. So if he ever sells those it’s going to cost me lol

seymourbarf: You don't have to name specific CRs, of course.
