Who is going to the show? I'm considering it. If you are close (within 4hrs), you should do it. It's a no-brainer this year. It's a bummer that Brent isn't there, but it should be worth it for Mark and Tom.

I went on Sunday and it was AWESOME. If you're a collector and haven't been, you're definitely missing out. I got a lot of really nice stuff and met some great people.

In my defense, her profile photo predates this year's Philly show, and also there are a lot of guys that look like Tom Bunk (usually they are in horror movies).

Yes he was there (I thought you were going too, Rob?!) and yes that pic was taken last year. He had various art for sale although I cannot recall exactly what was on the table now other than his newer convention posters and T Shirts. I did buy a 2019 Convention poster "GPK Dollhouse" (I got #1 of 100 woohoo!). I thought it was a brilliant piece.

For the most part I don't collect the new stuff anymore, so there was nothing being sold at the convention that I would want. The only "newer" artist I buy from is Mark, and I can buy from him online. But I would have went if a group of us had committed beforehand to going and had a plan to meet up. I would love to go to one of these things just to meet some UG people. If a bunch of us plan it out, I will go to the next one!

It's not all new stuff It's fun just to get an artist to draw you a sketch card, I do that every time. I try to buy a little something from each artist to support them. And actually, attending these shows has gotten me even more interested in GPK collecting ... but that's just me

There's a GPK flea market aspect to it as well? I wasn't aware of that.

In addition to the artists selling their art and offering sketch cards, there are vendor tables setup. There are a few that are more dedicated to selling GPK, but you will also see anything "non sport" ... a lot of TV shows (X-Files, Sons of Anarchy, Walking Dead) have trading cards out there so you'll see that as well. There are also vendors that have really old cards and things I never knew existed. A few sell GPK singles which are great if you just want something in particular. Wacky packs are popular as well. It's not a huge venue, it's a small indoor flea market that has other shops and it's fun to poke around. (I've seen GPK in some of the stores). Check out the website, phillynon-sportscardshow.com/ the photo in the background on the home page ... that will give you an idea on the size of the show. I'm actually going to be doing a youtube video in the near future on the stuff that I've gotten at the shows, you'll have to check it out.

I think you've sold me on the show. I'll drag my wife to PA with me for the next show so I have some company. Maybe we'll even go to Philly for a vegan cheese-steak after. Thanks!

Awesome, glad to help! PS - You know that's not a real cheese steak right?! Yeah, I know. But it's as real as it's going to get for me. Plus, there's this place called Blackbird that makes a delicious vegan version!

The next GPK group gathering is most likely going to be Toycon Las Vegas March 26-29 2020 at Westgate Hotel. Everyone should make it. www.facebook.com/pg/vegastoycon/posts/ Love the sarcasm!!!
