Only if it's a Cheap Toy release. I feel for the market if it's anything other.

Based on the wrapper image alone I would say this a UK version of the Italian Kakkones release. We shall see......

Why is it garbage gang? We had garbage pail kids back in the day. Because of the settlement with OAA. According to GPKWorld, "Topps could..use the 'Garbage Pail Kids' name through February 1988 [abroad]; all future international GPK releases were to be titled 'The Garbage Gang'". members.tripod.com/garbage_pail_kids/GPKImperial.htm

According to GPKWorld, "Topps could..use the 'Garbage Pail Kids' name through February 1988 [abroad]; all future international GPK releases were to be titled 'The Garbage Gang'". members.tripod.com/garbage_pail_kids/GPKImperial.htmThe GPK World section I linked to above doesn't contain any footnotes or links to primary source materials. I cannot find the OAA-Topps settlement online. However, in subsequent litigation between Topps and Imperial Toys, the following reference is made to the OAA-Topps settlement: "On February 2, 1988, Topps eventually settled the case by entering into a stipulation with OAA which, inter alia, granted Topps unqualified use of the GPK name through September 1, 1987 (in the U.S.) and February 1988 (abroad)". law.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/FSupp/686/402/1362745/So, clearly Topps was required to cease using the name "Garbage Pail Kids" outside the U.S. beginning in March, 1988. However, I can't find any support for what seems to be GPKWorld's implication that the settlement required the use of the name "Garbage Gang" thereafter. I would imagine using the "Garbage Gang" name was a choice made by Topps outside of any legal requirement.

Re the Garbage Pail name thing. The UK had an ANS1 release in 2004 and a Topps/Merlin sticker set around the same time and both of them were called Garbage Pail Kids? Maybe something changed? We had Garbage Gang too though, Garbage Gang Wraparound stickers with bubble gum and Garbage Gang '91 and '92.
Not that excited for the new release at the moment... A disgusting card game?? I guess the excitement will build that there'll actually be GG in the shops so that'll be cool!
