Ok, so it’s recently come to my attention that my four green series 2 figures look a little different than the more vibrant green colorway. Apparently there’s a marble variation. Is this what I have? http://instagr.am/p/Bk-loEFDVMS

Yeah, green has a variation of a light and darker mixing.
Also, I messaged you on IG. Not sure if you noticed the message request.

Right now, the only one I’m willing to part with is the green Erik since I now have a red one. However, I really wanted to use it as a trade for the orange figures I still need.

I was hoping others would chime in on this because I did not know the series twos were prone to UV damage unless maybe you sat them on your dash for a couple months at a time during the summer.

I have to disagree. The lighter areas all occur on the outer extremities/edges of the figures. If they sat in the sun or direct UV light, there would be larger areas or complete sides with fading. For example, with Catty Cathy, the fading occurs primarily on her ears and feet, yet her body is fine. I believe it was just a run of shitty plastic that gets lighter and/or fades in the thinner parts of the figures. Probably with age. I don’t know what occurred before I bought them, but for me, they’ve been stored in a case in the dark for a decade. Plus, the rest of my yellow, red, and blue figures all came from the same lot and are just fine. You can see the same thing happening with this Glen figure: http://instagr.am/p/lk4JyZx5si

Ohhhh I wanna play too. I feel like it was because green was injected AFTER the blue figs, and as these greens were being made the first several were "cleaning" out the blue from the lines and that's why you have this blue green marbling color. It was in theory the same thing that happened with series one in that I feel neon yellow were produced after neon red.... And that's why you have a few neon yellow that "cleaned out" the lines and have smattering of neon red mixed in. Same thing with salmon being produced just after electric blue, and neon green produced just after orange

Kirk looks more uniform in his color until you get to his very outter extremities.

My instagram embed above is multi-pic. You should be able to swipe to the left and view my other green figures.
