In the press release Jago describes the game as a “card-collecting role-playing game”.
Ugh, no thanks. Sounds like you'll have to buy packs, so this will probably be riddled with micro-transactions.
I'd much rather have a standard side-scrolling adventure game.
I agree Fuzz. A game along the lines of Nintendo's Warioware series seems to be a much more accommodating fit for GPK. Weird, gross out, totally random, chaotic. That's the order of the day for the Warioware series, and that design model fits GPK's much better than an RPG.😁

Not too excited about the RPG format because it probably means they will be assigning statistical attributes to each kid and we'll have to pay to constantly upgrade our collection -- 99 cents at a time -- if we want any chance of winning battles. Many of our favorite characters could be diminished to numerical pawns used to compete in some virtual sport.
But I must admit I've been wanting Topps to make a GPK mobile game to bridge the generational gap between print and digital, so I wish them success if this app brings new awareness to the brand.
80sgarbagepailkid: Hi all, I'm new here, although I've been a fan of GPKs since I was 8 years old in 1986 and discovered GPKs through the elementary school playground. My first GPKs were a pack of OS3 my Dad came home from work and gave me. Glad I found this site!

seymourbarf: Yeah, if you aren't on FB, your best bets are eBay or right here on the UG.

peds: I'm new to the site and kinda new to collecting GPK in general, would ebay be the best choice for older cards? The newer/new one's would be way easier and cheaper to find on a daily basis but I want to start with the older stuff without breaking the bank.
