Basically a card that's worth a dollar (if that)...then PSA says it's GEM mint, and all of a sudden it's worth $113. But hey, maybe someone needs it to complete a GEM set?

A PSA 8 of the same card sold for $13 a couple months ago. They don't look all that different. And that's exactly why I am not going to try to complete a GEM set. I would spend *thousands* trying to get that last handful of cards. And when I finally completed the set, I'd finish a bottle of brandy and then smash it in the fireplace out of anger. |

It always seems the last handful of cards or whatever it is always end up costing a lot more, By overpaying first off especially a lot can change the market , it only takes one person to shift the market !!!!! everyone thought I was going to do that with the chrome autos, people would make comments all the time , But I’ve been pretty lucky |

Anyway, I totally bid that up on an Uber ride home from a bar not thinking it would actually cost me that much but apparently someone was nearly as nuts (drunk?) as me. If it means anything, that was my upper limit so I nearly didn't win haha.
So since I came clean on that, who wants to sell me Ben Bolt? PSA 9 is more than fine, I realize I paid way too much for the subject of this lovely (and somewhat embarrassing) thread. :-D

I just saw an art auction for a Frazetta painting for just over 1,700,000. The cut that the auction house got was 50k more than my mortgage. Check out prices for wacky package finals, you'll really s**t your pants. GPK is still a bargain compared to that. |
