I care very little about all the chase sets and inserts. I spend like $12 to get my small dose of nostalgia, then I'm done.

This is why I buy a base set on eBay and that's it. Not worth it anymore. Just base? I missed the last 8 or so series released and gave up trying to price all the ADDITIONAL bonus/insert/etc cards for them, maybe I should just give it up and save my money, TOPPS isn't making it easy for it to be an average hobby to do on your own, I can't imagine kids nowadays trying to make any of the insert sets. Just go with the affordable. As a collector that had to rebuild. Most is affordable. On os the most expensive on is through 15 will be the few die-cut vs non, and glossy vs matte which in os 2 also effects the puzzle you get. In ans through now, there is a base and cheap inserts. Yes a card or two may cost $60 to $120...like cole gate...., so may a bonus set cost $200 like the wax pack parodies or album covers, but even in the poor man's life like mine, these goals are reachable. Screw getting all the parrallels, relic cards, peach or black minikins, or anything that only is made for the 1%. I don't even sweat not having them. But it is fun to have in the collection what is reasonably available.
