I'm sure many of you aren't affected by this, but I mean come on! As many of you know GPK prices have gone up a crap ton! Like I said many of you guys probably have money to spend. But some of us are on a low budget and the prices we are seeing is crazy! I mean over $2 for 10 CARDS! I know that's not much but that adds up! I'm sure some of you can agree with me! It used to be ¢25 for 5 CARDS! I mean this is not good! FIX IT TOPPS!!!

You should be happy the chrome days are over. It was like $3 for 4 cards? I could be wrong on the # per pack but it was a ripoff for sure.

Jimbo's correct. $3 a pack/$0.75 a card for retail Chrome. With Trash Packs the price of a Chrome pack is now $0.63 or $0.16 a card. ($10/16 packs)

Well the release of the new on-line Rock & Roll Hall of Fame set does nothing to counter the image that Topps is just milking every dollar they can out of their loyal fan base. $49.99 for 20 cards and $7.74 for shipping. It's really crazy to think that they are expecting us to spend almost 60 bucks to work on completing a small fraction of the AAAP series.

There is no completion of the AAAP series, it will be like Star Wars movies now; a baby born today that lives to 100 won't see the last AAAP release, just like we'll never see the last Star Wars movie. Also I read your post in Ron Swanson's voice, so thanks for that.

Can someone do the numbers and count up the total price for all of the online sets (when getting the full set, not separated)? I would just like to know.

I didn't like chrome that much either, because the cards costed so much and they just looked as if the were vended before. I remember getting only a few packs before not getting it anymore.

Price = cost+shipping+ profit
I guess back in the 80s they could get ink for about $25 a gallon, carbord was .15 cents a sheet, and to ship a case for $10, and the rest was profit..
Today the ink is 60.00 a gallon, and cost nearly 30.00 to ship a case, plus carbord us now over 1.25 a sheet...
Adding that GPKs in the 1980s were at every gas station and little store in america.. today TARGET and if you get lucky, Walmart or some expensive novelty shop in the mall...
Goodbye 25cents and 99cents And hello 2.49 and 2.99 :-(

In 1985-1986 when GPK was 5 cards for 25 cents, baseball cards were 15 cards from 35 cents (2 cents per card). Inflation on GPK is not nearly as much as in other card industries. I'm not sure what can be done.

It's a "collector tax", not inflation. From a fan's point of view it seems like a ripoff when you're just trying to get a nostalgic laugh. But when dealers make $5k profit on their $15k investment, Topps wants their cut and arbitrarily marks up the $3k manufacturing cost to $15k. It's the only way to pay their lawyers.

But when dealers make $5k profit on their $15k investment wow I love to see the break down for that statement I highly doubt that profit number in current GPK market
