Splatoon it is! I haven't actually played Splatoon in a few months, and I'm too scared to jump back in because I'll be too underleveled. ;_; Anyway, ever since I saw the Splatoon reveal I was waiting for some sort of GPK crossover (mostly because I am one anxious dude). I considered doing an Adam Bomb parody called "IAN kstrike", but do we really need another Adam Bomb? I don't have much else to say about this Kid besides that his shirt says GPK on it. I think I have a good idea for the toxic waste idea now, so the next one will possibly be that.

Finally did the toxic waste idea, albeit a bit indirectly and quickly. There's a card similar to this one in the All-New Series, though its name currently eludes me. This one is different, however, as this is a kid who's being mutated by toxic water. He has an extra eye, an extra ear, an extra hand, and if you look on his leg he even has an extra nose. He must have swam in from upstream, since he doesn't seem to have crawled over the barbed wire keeping people out. I think this Kid kind of brings up an enviromental message, probably something along the lines of "don't pollute your water, jerks".

This kid is probably one of the more unsettling Kids I've drawn... but probably not for the right reasons. There's no escaping emoji, the little yellow smileys on your phone. Companies constantly put out emoji merchandice such as clothes and pillows for teenagers to spend the money from their parents or McDonalds jobs on. An emoji was even chosen as the Word of 2015. It'll probably only be a matter of time before Topps tackles the subject, but for now here's my interpretation on the Emoji Garbage Pail Kid. Of course, you can't have anything with emoji good unless you include the best emoji, aka the poop emoji. For those wondering, every emoji here is based on the Apple versions. The emoji included here are: ? (face) ? (hair) ? (right hand) ☝ (left hand) ? (poop) ? (shirt) ? (pants) ? (shoes)

Ever wonder where GPK come from? Certainly not the cabbage patch, though maybe in the cabbage patch's compost bin. No one knows for sure, but this is what they might look like before they're born: A lot of people find fetuses creepy. Me, not so much. After all, you were a fetus once too. This kid is more an embryo though. Sure I could have made an abortion joke here, but come on, that's a little too tasteless. Unborn kids are weird-looking enough that we don't have to go there anyway. I guess it does raise a question I tend to think about though, and that is the organicness of the average GPK. They're dolls, or so it's said, but they age, procreate, contain internal organs, and poop, pee, and vomit. Perhaps just as some GPK are inanimate objects, some are organic too? It's probably best not to ask.

After being stuck on ideas for a few days, I'm finally back with a somewhat presentable piece. Here we have a GPK based on the Pokémon Lucario. Even if you haven't played Pokémon, you may still recognize him from playing Smash Bros with the kids (and losing). Now you may be asking, "gensokyopailkid, this is nice and all, but where's the joke?" I have an answer to that question, and the answer is there is no joke, or at least not an explicit one. This was mostly because I was considering giving this somehow to a friend who was probably unfamiliar with GPK, but thinking on it more I'm not sure I will. Also notice how I still can't draw bare GPK feet.

This new one is kind of an, uh... awkward one, but I like it. I'm both surprised and unsurprised Topps never did a Kokopelli GPK, considering he's an iconic image, but at the same time he has religious associations. That and he's a fertility symbol of sorts. Nevertheless, he is the basis of today's GPK. Even if Kokopelli was allowed to be parodied, this concept probably wouldn't make the cut for obvious reasons. Why does Topps have to be so... anal?

Great customs! Very creative! I think my favorites are Hang Niall and Mimi Meme. I'm finding custom GPKs way more appealing than a lot of the newer official GPKs.

It's been a while since I posted anything here, and with the news that Slime Time Trashy TV is going to have Wacky Packages insert, I drew up this idea I've had for a while so I can sue Topps if they make the same pun Since it may be hard to read, I'll just copy what it says here: "topsoil GARDEN SNAIL KIDS FEATURING JOKES FOR THOSE WHO ARE A LITTLE SLOW 10 STICKY, SLIMY CARDS"

It's not GPK-related, but it is Topps-related, and with the previous post of Garden Snail Kids I figured I'd continue on in the Wacky Pack-style parody of trading cards: This one is an idea I had for a while, but I didn't do it until today because I ran across some Dinosaurs Attack stuff online and got motivated. The dinosaur in the sunglasses kind of reminds me of Wacko-Saurs, but of course that's not really what i was going for. Also I can't draw dinosaurs.

Good stuff, but your going to have a hard time topping DTAB in the dinosaur genre.

Good stuff, but your going to have a hard time topping DTAB in the dinosaur genre. JungHwa Im has given me some serious competition Also, side note: I finally got my hands on some sketching pencils the other day, and that is what Dinosaurs Relax was done in. I still don't have a sharpener or eraser though, so I haven't done much practice.

Even if it wasn't some of the best art can come from not being able to draw something. Where the Wild Things Are was actually supposed to be Where the Wild Horses Are but the artist couldn't actually draw horses to save his life. So he made them bizarre creatures instead and the rest is history. Keep up the good work!

In-progress sketch of Max Axe I should totally start doing sketch cards, if only the logistics of it were slightly easier.

I haven't drawn any new concepts in a while, but after an incident at work yesterday, I knew I had to draw this one. Basically what happened was that I went to the bathroom at work, and when I went into a stall, the walls were just smeared with dookie. Pretty nasty stuff. So for this one I decided to combine that experience with the way kids like to draw on the walls. I don't usually resort to straight up poop jokes, but it makes the image subversive, and that's the key to making a good GPK in my opinion.

Just another day at the job, saw some poop graffiti on the bathroom wall at work, was the inspiration for my next gpk concept. Lmao
