Wonder what he charges for a commission? ask the member who started the "jaw-dropping Pound commission" thread. Which board is it on? Couldn't find it.

It'd probably be easier to get the answer straight from Pound. His email is at www.poundart.com.

It'd probably be easier to get the answer straight from Pound. His email is at www.poundart.com. I thought this info might help some & possibly save Mr Pound from a bunch of emails. I emailed him a few weeks ago for a commission and this was his answer. Hi Michael, Thanks for your email. Very nice looking framing for those GPK paintings and cards! Brings out the color... I would be open to doing a GPK-style commission painting. You mentioned LIVE MIKE. I'd prefer some input on what extra elements you would like in the picture. Perhaps a combination of 2 GPK-type characters? To not conflict with my work for Topps GPKs, new "GPK-style" commissions need to be slightly different from Topps GPKs. (Such as a different number of figures, different colors, different faces, square artwork, etc.) SIZE May be up to 8 x 8 inches or 8.5 x 11 inches. (up to about 21.5 x 28 cm) PRICE Full-painting gpk-style commissions start at $2500.00 US, which includes buying the final art painting (acrylics on paper). Pencil art commissions start at $600.00 US, depending on complexity of the image. Price includes art. Pencil drawings are dark pencil line art on vellum (a good quality tracing paper). PAYMENT I require part payment to start the job. For example, 30%. I require payment in full before I send the final art. I accept PAYPAL, money order or US check. Checks need to clear the bank first. PROCESS After part or full payment, I start the pencil art. I show you a low-res scan. After OK, I do a color rough. Low-res scan. After OK, I do the final art. Low-res scan. After OK and full payment, I send final art. EXAMPLES See 2 recent commission examples here: www.poundart.com/commissions.html

i think 2500 is very reasonable considering that includes the pencil and color roughs as well. Gosh, i wonder what i could think up. I wonder what his interpretation of Madonna GPK-style would look like.... that would totally be up my alley and i actually think that's a very good idea. Pick out my favorite era and sh!t.

The price is great for the time it must take, it sure makes OS finals look cheap though as you can pick them up for less than that and I'm sure they will hold their value better. (not that its all about money) It sure is great he will do this for us.

however, 2500 is quite a chunk of change to just throw around towards a personal painting. But, for 750 (30%), you can get the process started and pay by installments or something. It's possible...

It's possible... $2500 is too rich for my blood. LD does GPK commissions for half that and the quality is pretty much equal. Of course Pound has the old school factor. LD was collecting GPK while Pound was painting them back in the day.

I just spent $1700 for a Nathan Ota original... I could do $2500, surely. Not this year, though. Maybe a few years down the line.

Yeah, definitely my favorite in that one. A little steep given I just paid $5000 to Uncle Sam, but Ota's work is getting more popular and I wanted to snag up a piece sooner rather than later. I love his blues, greens and yellows, and his works with the sky are truly amazing. Huge fan. Spoke with him prior to the show via e-mail, terrific guy--that makes clunking the moolah down a lot easier. Stimulating the economy by allowing talented people to do what they love for a living, which is a lot better than buying a new TV at Walmart.

I love that, as well. It's a great environmentalist piece; showing that the gizmos we cherish so fondly will once be taken back by nature and become a part of the scenery as everything adapts around it.

I've been talking to Tomas this weekend(email), he's really cool, he does have some fine stuff, but you have to sort through thousands to get to one. He's very prolific and has had his moments in GPK, we can certainly give him that much .

it's here ---> www.gpkworld.com/US_New_2nd_Series.htmTCT made an avatar for me with it. yea, it's not very good. Not very GPKish. I'm hoping that Pound can do to Madonna what he did to Sarah Palin. That sort of thing. Not a parody, just make her a CPK.

It's like doing a portrait of a celebrity in a CPK style, instead of using exaggeration and distortion for humor(Hollywood Zombies). And keep the backgrounds airbrushed PLEASE!!!!

I also notice that the flowers are at the same level that the stars. And the first shine like the last. I feel like flowers=star. I don't know if it was wanted ? For madonna and britney gpk I feel that now in music ( in USA FRANCE ect...) if you want to sell, voice and music isn't a matter, you must do some hot or very hot clip or one another same action.

I feel that way, too; the flowers blooming in a drought to let you know there's a light at the end of the tunnel. Good stuff.
