Found pics of a Double Heather pencil on a completed auction. So now it's confirmed that OS1 and OS2 characters are part of this release. Anybody have an unopened pack of these??? I'd love to see a pic of the school supplies aisle from 1985! GPK pencils, school sets, folders, notepads, notebooks, pencil pouches, pencil billboards, etc all in one place!

Nice grab Travis! Glad somebody from the UG got it. Thanks for the info. Would be cool to find a Bright Ideas catalog from 1985. I vaguely remember using GPK pencils way back in the day but probably broke them all playing pencil pop! I'm hoping we see more listed soon.

Holy Pencil stash! Just found this pic here: www.geepeekay.com/brightideas_pencil.html Cool info too :-) PENCIL DETAILS: MADE BY: The Garbage Pail Kids Pencils were produced and released by Bright Ideas Inc. MANUFACTURED IN: All Bright Ideas merchandise, including the Pencils, were manufactured in Coatesville, PA COPYRIGHT DATE: The copyright date on the Pencils reads 1985 COMPLETE SET: It is unknown what makes a complete set of Pencils, but they have been spotted in four different colors and with seven different characters It's possible there is no other piece of Garbage Pail Kids merchandise that has flown under-the-radar more than the Pencils from Bright Ideas. These items rarely show up for sale, resulting in a large portion of the collecting-community doubting their authenticity or not even knowing they exist at all. However, these pencils are definitely legitimate and were released alongside the other Bright Ideas school-themed items. The wood pencils came in a variety of colors and featured a number of different Garbage Pail Kids characters on the side. Themed-pencils were extremely popular in the 1980s so it only makes sense that someone took advantage of the popularity of GPK.

Can anyone make out all the names here? 🤓 (I edited above pic to help decipher nameplates) So many different variations in that pic! Lots of different characters (Blasted Billy, Brainy Janie, Double Heather, Swell Mel, Patty Putty), pencil colors (yellow, blue, pink, brown), eraser color (pink, white, yellow), and metal colors (silver, gold, purple). Dear lord........ 😇

Found a Dressy Jesse! One more to add to the list of GPK Pencils. That's cool the Swell Mel pencil is brown.
