Spiegelman visited this exhibition dedicated to his work with the French Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and he asked him if he liked Les Crados... As the Minister looked pretty embarrassed (Les Crados caused a big controversy in the 80's : link), Spiegelman told this story : "When the first volume of "Maus" was released and that very serious medias got interested in the book, my editor said : "Above all, don't say you're the Garbage Pail Kids creator !"

Nice pics. Any idea who's collection that is? In that 3rd pic there's a super rare French Canadian Popup/Sauteur on the top shelf. That brings the total known number of Sauteurs in the alternate box packaging to 3 so far. ;-)

You have a sharp eye ! Well I don't know who lent these items for the exhibition... Maybe does it come from Topps or Spiegelman himself ? The other pieces on display (mainly original pages from Spiegelman's comics) came from the personal collection of the author...
