When I was a kid I had a nice collection consisting of my very first Garbage Pail Kids, mostly series 1 and 3. In 1st grade, I took them to school and my friends got a blast out of them. I went to a Catholic school which had already placed a ban on GPK's that I didn't know about until one of the older kids told me. Luckily no teachers noticed them and they all survived the entire day. I'll never forget... after school I was waiting on the playground to be picked up. One of my classmates named Scottie ***** asked me if he could show them to his grandpa quick, who had just pulled in the playground. Being just 6 years old, I trustingly said sure. He takes my box, goes over to his grandpa's car then.... JUMPS IN AND LEAVES! With all of my cards. Every single one of them. Of course I was bawling the rest of the night, but my parents wouldn't do anything. They seemed more relieved that those stupid cards were gone. So of course I talked to Scottie next day at school. He told me he lost them. A few days later, I noticed he had stuck a couple of my cards (Adam Bomb and Guillo Tina) on his folder. I confronted him and he offered to sell them all back to me. I didn't have the extra money to do it. Not long after that he was gone from the school.... never to return, altho he stayed in town. Today on Facebook, he came up as one of my suggested friends. I've attached one of his honest-to-god profile pictures. I was thinking of sending him a Thank You message for giving me a life lesson on scum at such an early age. And to ask him if he remembers everything like I do. With every new Series that is released, I still think about that day. Every time I add a new set to my albums, I think about my original collection and my crude checklist of cards I needed. I know they are long gone and I need to let go... but would you seek closure?  |

Hey Gambit read the letter and there is a problem, you were rather nice which there is nothing wrong with that. Problem is you went about the letter the wrong way now if you would have offered him cheeseburgers for trade for your garbage pail kids he would have jump or waddled all over that deal.

I think I know what happened to your GPK's. When grandpa found out about them, he beat the crap out of Scottie which kept him permanently retarded and thinking he is still in the 80's. The brain damage sustained by the beating, caused him to believe he is a zombie killing Luke Skywalker hardcore rapper. Meanwhile grandpa (btw Scottie still lives in his basement) kept the GPK's to himself and recently sold them on Ebay for a few hundred bucks to pay for Scotties therapy treatments. Im pretty sure I got this figured out for you.

czarcher..... You gave me a great idea! So I looked him up on the court's websites (Tiffin, Hancock, and Seneca County) and saw that he has quite the criminal record. Mostly for theft and breaking & entering (go figure!).
But what's most disturbing, there was a murder near here a couple years ago. It turns out he was living in the same house with his family when they butchered some girl! He didn't have anything to do with it, but was questioned by police. Everybody else in the house was arrested for killing her or lying to the police. I'm reading the newspaper articles where they talk about their house and it is CRAZY!!!

"When her mother and stepfather moved away a few years ago, Vera Jo moved in with the Brooks family. Today, that family lives at 300 Center St., a threadbare, two-story house. A picture window facing the four-lane road features dusty, menacing dolls, including "Chucky" of horror films.
Scottie *****, an adult son of Cheri Brooks, who also lived at her Center Street home, claimed he saw Peters and Daniel Bixler, 21, of Tiffin, torture, beat and stomp on Reigle at that house in the hours before she died..
Officers were called to the house at least 10 times over two years because of complaints about harassment, threats, child abuse or neglect, fighting, and poor living conditions. Police also went there to escort a social worker inside to check on Vera Jo and baby Willadean.
Officers' reports said the house was "filthy" and "smelled terrible," in part because a pig was living there and defecating in a closet.
The woman said the Brooks family kept Vera Jo because she received Social Security disability checks, according to the report, which identified the woman as someone who lived elsewhere.
Three days later, police returned with a Children's Services worker.
"When we opened the door, a very foul smell was coming from inside the house," Officer Shawn Nungester reported.
"The house was very dirty and it did not appear that the Brooks family owns a vacuum for the carpets," Nungester wrote.
While there, Nungester said he saw a cockroach on the wall near the front door and another on the floor in front of a television.
The two people charged in Vera Jo's death were at the house last Saturday in the hours before her body was found."

What a completely dysfunctional group of people. Well at least you have an understanding of how a kid could act that way when he stole your collection from you. His Facebook response shows he has not mentally progressed since your last confrontation in the 80's. Not to get political, but this backstory is a pretty unsavory commentary on the social welfare system.
