Looking at that and the consistency of the yellowing on the fringe parts of your other greens it looks like it could be UV damage. I was hoping others would chime in on this because I did not know the series twos were prone to UV damage unless maybe you sat them on your dash for a couple months at a time during the summer. I have to disagree. The lighter areas all occur on the outer extremities/edges of the figures. If they sat in the sun or direct UV light, there would be larger areas or complete sides with fading. For example, with Catty Cathy, the fading occurs primarily on her ears and feet, yet her body is fine. I believe it was just a run of shitty plastic that gets lighter and/or fades in the thinner parts of the figures. Probably with age. I don’t know what occurred before I bought them, but for me, they’ve been stored in a case in the dark for a decade. Plus, the rest of my yellow, red, and blue figures all came from the same lot and are just fine. You can see the same thing happening with this Glen figure: http://instagr.am/p/lk4JyZx5si Fair enough....can we see pics of the other two greens? In the Glenn the blue green mix is really apparent. Kirk looks more uniform in his color until you get to his very outter extremities.

Ok, so it’s recently come to my attention that my four green series 2 figures look a little different than the more vibrant green colorway. Apparently there’s a marble variation. Is this what I have? http://instagr.am/p/Bk-loEFDVMS Looking at that and the consistency of the yellowing on the fringe parts of your other greens it looks like it could be UV damage. i think, based on what he said, he believes mike got that big ebay lot a while back...which he did not. I thought we agreed not to use our government names on the forums It is a well known fact that Collector X bought that lot.

I didn’t even pay 600 for my magenta Chris. Ha Anyone interested in a bird color rainbow, I’ll sell you all four for 2000. 4 birds for around the price you paid for that Canadian lot with a red Kathy and a green fishy and a yellow bird Buy low sell high that is the aim of the game ! "Another Day, Another Dollar" Let's not get to hateing here. It's not a good look on anybody. So there was a tinge of sarcasm to Spirits post but yeah if anybody was willing, I am sure he'd part with those birds for 2k. Nobody should be mad at people offering to sell stuff for a "higher" price. Since when was anybody obligated to cut people deals? Pretty sure general free market principals work with Cheap Toys too. If you don't like the price don't buy it and if you need to sell set the price accordingly.

At least one other person was willing to join the bidding at $600 and a few more in the mid $300 range. I'd still put that toy at $300 to $400 dollars if you didn't have two guys that were really gunning for it. Rarity aside, if you popped three more on ebay right now they all wouldn't sell for $600. I would think they would sell with a BIN of $300 and the seller(s) could possibly get a little more. But the value of everything in the universe is controlled by the highest price it's ever sold for on eBay, right? Absolutely. I think ebay even has that in their pricing recommendations / guidelines for new sellers.

The yellow bird looks like it's gonna go for some good money too. Maybe $300+?

Is anyone pre-ordering the Atari VCS? They just opened pre-orders today. I'm still on the fence about it. I grew up with the Atari 2600 and it was my first video game console. I still love it and play it to this day. There's just something off about this new console. Obviously it's not a retro console but I'm just confused as to what Atari wants to do or accomplish with it. I want Atari to succeed but all they're selling is a Linux computer in a retro designed case. I kind of want it but don't want it at the same time. I want to support Atari but I don't want to waste my money if this turns out to be a flop. Have any of you ordered it? What do you think? Here's the Indiegogo link if anyone's interested. Atari VCS Indiegogo LinkDon't see Activision on board. No River Raid or Pitfall. Count me out. Besides them graphics are shi**ty and most of the games suck. It was all I had at the time but even then there was better (Intelivosion and Colleco or the Amiga). So nope. Fond memories but that's it. When's that new Kingdom Rush coming out?

can someone share how they store or display? does anyone know if the resin reacts with any plastic etc. long term? i obtained series one when they first came out and put them in individual plastic bags but recently pulled them out and a few seemed to be slightly sticking to the little bags which concerned me. Is there a known no no on storage? Thanks for any help on this. I'd like to know too. I have had neon red cheap toys get a little sticky as well and if you wipe the, with a paper towel the towel will have some color on it.

Is blue Glenn rare? It used to be considered rare but now is it? I think anymore it just goes to who needs what figure. They are all rare.

It is an exciting week in Cheaptoyland! We get a little "pulse of the market" check in with a Sunshine Phylis up for bid on eBay. She currently sits at $89.88. I guess it sells for $125 and $160. Anybody think it will go higher? This post will guarantee it triples in price 🤑 I stand corrected!

I don't know guys. People have to want to pay that price again. I know I don't. We are all in our 40's or older, haha. Different priorities then it was 10 years ago for many of us. Just because a few guys bid that toy up to $200 or maybe $300 doesn't mean whoever else is collecting them wants to pay those prices. You have to remember the community shrank because of the high prices. Part of it too is lack on anything to buy. Tough to collect something you can't get a hold of.

Well for those that care I threw a bid on the fire. It's a biggun so if you want it you gotta top $300 US. I say that because there's always that one guy who wants it cheap but can't afford it so they have to raise you by $5 to your max to make you pay as much as possible. It's actually still pretty cheap compared to how much these things used to sell for. A series 2 on average was $400. I hope you win her for a bit less than that! If this toy goes for any more than it is now maybe it will move other folks to sell.

I've seen that too guys constantly bidding by $5. It's funny because I bid at the last second and usually end of winning 75% of the time. These guys who just bid against each other are pretty much just wasting their time with the endless back and forth and showing their hand. Maybe it's a bragging kinda thing? Just because your the high bidder for the week doesn't mean sh@t. You better bring your A game for the last 10 sconds is all I got to say. Right there with ya. I think most people, if they are serious about an item know their final number amd will stick with it unless they catch that last second fever. If I am all in on something, I would still babysit that auction until the end and usually throw some insurence money on top just to make sure I bring it home. True too that being the high bidder a few days out doesn't mean squat but if you are in it for real you can let the pretenders know this ain't for them with a nice initial bid.

It's a CA but a bit cruddy on that top barbell. It could wash up pretty well. Somebody thinks so .... And yes Paul I never understood bidding early on things I bid early sometimes especially with sketch cards I wanted. Nothin like lettin chumps bid something up in $5 increments until that shi*s a couple hundred dollars. That lets them know what time it is and that's his shi* ain't a fu*kin game.

just looking over these threads and it looks like the big lot was lost.. did any of these figures make it into UG members hands? the huge lot i even remarked 2400 was a decent lot price and a few were trying to gather 2500 plus shipping. There weren’t enough people interested, and a few collectors wanted the same toy. I second that...lI tried to get a pool off buyers. A few were interested but not enough. The seller implied that there was some other interest. I bet someone bought them because the seller likely would have eventually broke them up if they didn't sell as a lot. Crazy, all those S2 figures and no series one sculpts.

There is a CA series one...that's where you Canadian Aquas etc. come from.
If you haven't already take some time to read the treads Russ put together on the various cheap Toy releases. They are a great place to learn just about everything a CT collector might want to know.

Yeah the price seemed very fair based on ended auctions years ago. Being a Canadian listing helped out big time too. So now I have USA GPK, UK GPK, UK GG, and Canada S2 wrapper/checklists. Are there any other wrapper/CL’s out there for CTs? There was the very rare North Korean series 3 Cheap Toy release.
