What size binders are people using for each of the sets?
1/2in for OS1-15? 1in for FB? 1in. for BNS?
I plan on 9 cards per page or does putting 18 per page work better?

Plastic is nice and all but how do you get the wax stains on the cards?

The best way, imo, to start is grab some ultra pro 9 pocket pages and see what sets you have complete. Variations are cool but, for me, totally useless to chase down. If I get them cool, if not that's cool too.
I restarted with grabbing the FB1, 2 and 3 and the BNS1, 2, 3 base sets. I also grabbed a base set of 2014 S1 and Bukimi Kun S1. I'm not going to bother chasing the sub sets or variations.
The chrome OS1 boxes were made in HUGE numbers. Topps printed more cards than they could ever sell at retail. It'll take a long long time for the sealed boxes to be worth much more than their original price. Odds of finding a rare card are not in your favor if you decide the rip them open. I liked the chrome cards so I have a base set and am working to complete the base refractors and concept sketch sets.
It took me a long time to get out of being a completist and needing all the cards. I much rather collecting at a reasonable pace and grabbing what I like when funds allow.
Pick your poison. Collect toys, new cards, old cards, odd GPK stuff or art. There is way too much GPK crap to try to grab it all at once without burning through a bunch of cash or losing your mind.
Time is your best ally in building a cool, well rounded collection.
Many people here have sets and things they will be willing to sell you. A lot of the time they will give you a decent price on the stuff, but be diligent and do your homework; sometimes the stuff can be grabbed for less from a reputable dealer on ebay rather than an emotional collector.
There's my 2 cents, don't spend it all in one place.

999.95 will buy you a bunch of beer. but, but, my credit card already has $2000 worth of beer on it. So, I have already purchased and consumed the beer. Don't worry, I am going to pull the auction down in the morning. I guess I will go back to hunting the black that I will have to pay $200+ for... Back to PBR..... PBR? Natty Ice for the win
