Did a little bit of research this am to see why Topps likes to send out cease and desist letters like they're going out of style. Found some interesting tidbits. I'm sorry if u had any respect for Topps before reading this: Exhibit A: www.beckett.com/news/toppslawsuit/A former Topps employee filed a lawsuit in a New York Supreme Court last week seeking more than $4 million in damages after his image was used on a trading card without his permission. Christopher Holmes, a former long-time brand manager for the company, was featured on five trading cards depicting him as the folk hero John Henry, a former slave who helped build railroads in mystifying fashion. According to court documents, Holmes has “suffered public ridicule, degradation, humiliation, emotional distress, economic damages and other injuries” due to the American History Relic card, which was released in 2011 Topps Triple Threads. He also alleges that the cards are in violation of New York Civil Rights Law, which prohibits “the use of a person’s name, portrait, picture or voice for the purposes of advertising or trade without the written consent of the subject.” Holmes, who had been employed by the company since 1994, was photographed while an employee last July, but he was terminated from the company without good cause, according to court documents, on Aug. 26. The cards were released in Triple Threads on Sept. 28. The Henry card in the American History Relics set was not the first time that Holmes or a Topps employee had appeared on trading cards made by the company. In 2008, Holmes appeared on one of the Allen & Ginter Team Orange cards, a 10-card set of fictional characters on cards as part of a mystery code promotion for the product. In that and other instances, Holmes and other employees, according to the documents, were informed about the use of their likenesses and were furnished a sample copy of the cards for review and approval before the cards were produced. In this instance, because Holmes was dismissed, the court documents say that he never authorized Topps to use his photo on the Henry card. He also alleges that Topps “knew or should have known that [he] did not and would not consent to the use of his likeness, image, portrait and/or picture to depict him as a former slave.” In addition, he claims that because Topps knew he would not approve the card that he was fired without good cause before the release of the card, which was one of three subjects in the American History Relics set — Pecos Bill, John Henry and Leif Ericson. The cards were not previously announced to the public before they were found in packs and only five serial-numbered copies of each card were made by Topps. Holmes is seeking $1 million in damages, punitive damages of $3 million, lost wages, attorney’s fees and any other damages that the court deems proper. Topps had not yet responded to messages seeking comment. Kind of ironic that while putting their general counsel on one of these same style cards and then they ended up getting sued for 4 million bucks. Worst part is they depicted the poor guy as the former slave John Henry. Is this how they "respect" their former employees at Topps?!? I'm f*cking pissed now after reading this s**t 😤 Time to make a Ray-Cyst card. Wow, I can't believe they would do something that stupid and than fire the guy! That's what Topps gets for being such greedy s**t heads! I hope he wins his case, if it's not already over since it happened in 2011 lol. Topps probably settled it outside of court and cut the guy a check. His lawyer probably had a field day on this case lol!

Wow... these boxes bring back so much memories... I think the last box you posted isn't from France : the price (15 FB = 15 francs belges) seems to show it's from Belgium. Thanks for the info, Pepe! I was wondering why the price on the box says "15 F.B." but the price on the French wrapper is "2,50 F". Do you remember what the sticker looked like that they put on the boxes in France? Maybe a "2,50 F" sticker, or did they leave it blank and I just have the boxes switched? Thanks! :-) That's a goood question. I know when comparing the France/Belgium Les Crados series 1 pack variation that the Belgium packs have the price circle completely black and the France packs are white with a price in them. The Belgium variation packs are hard to find but they are in circulation occasionally.

Uncut Sheets Updated Definitions: Full Uncut Sheet: 264 (22x12) cards, Sheet A & Sheet B together uncut. Uncut Sheet: 132 (11x12) cards (actually a half-sheet), Can either be Sheet A or Sheet B. Most collectors refer to this as an ‘Uncut Sheet’. I suggest using this terminology until there is proof from TOPPS that there are other definitions. Sheet A: 132 (11x12) cards, Board 1 at the Top and Bottom and Board 2 in the middle. Sheet B: 132 (11x12) cards, Board 2 at the Top and Bottom and Board 1 in the middle. Board 1: 44 (4x11) cards all ‘A’ cards. Board 2: 44 (4x11) cards all ‘B’ cards. All Original Series were made with sheets like this. Any other variation of number of cards is most likely an unlicensed copy or there is a small chance that it is a cut down sheet. Most common of these types were made during the 80s of Series 2nd and 3rd The ANS (All New Series) Garbage Pail Kids have different sized sheets. 1st Series – Sheet A & Sheet B 2nd Series – Board 1 & 2 – 2nd Print Run (Messy TESSIE) 2nd Series – Board 1 & 2 – 3rd Print Run (Live MIKE) 3rd Series – Sheet A 4th Series – Full Sheet, Sheet A, & Sheet B 5th Series – Full Sheet & Sheet A 6th Series – Sheet A 7th Series – Sheet B 8th Series – Sheet B 9th Series – Sheet B 10th Series – Sheet A ANS4 – Regular Sticker Fronts ANS5 – Base Cards ANS6 – Base Cards ANS6 – Bonus Cards Fronts ANS6 – Action Punch-Outs ANS6 – Magnet Fronts Unpublished 16th – Production Board 1 Australian Garbage Gang 1st – Sheet B Australian Garbage Gang 3rd – Production Board 1 Argentina or Chili Basuritas Giant 1st -54 Giant Stickers -12 & Full Sheet 9x6 Would you be interested in selling your uncut Australian garbage gang sheets or les crados series 1 set?

Update: Yesterday, 11/12/15, I finally received my Crados2 pack from dwillis. He threw in a bunch of extras and a written apology with the package. I'm actually shocked that it arrived since its been about 3 months (paid on 8/26), but he did come through in the end. Here's all the extra he sent: Luis, thank you for sharing this picture. I know you were frustrated and thought I ripped you off but I'm glad I was able to make it right. I'm sure you have a negative opinion of me from that situation but just know that it wasn't intentional and I am truly sorry. Everyone I owed cards to received their stuff but it doesn't excuse my lazyness and lack of communication prior to my car accident. I thank you for sharing this picture and I appreciate it more than you know.

I want to truly apologize for this whole situation for everyone involved. I admit, i was going through some hard times in my life and I neglected to ship everyones stuff for a few weeks. After my car accident it took me a few more weeks to ship everyones stuff but everyone got what they paid for. I had no intentions of ripping anyone off and Im not a scammer. I sent everyones stuff and lots of extras with every package. Ive never ripped anyone off nor do I plan on starting now. I am to deeply invested in the community and have spent way to much time and effort to just leave. Kblaze, you know why I was "paranoid" about dealing with you but I'm not going to put your business out there. If you would like for me to elaborte I will but Im not trying to start any drama. Thank you to everyone who was on my side and knew that I was going to come through with everyones stuff. I know what it looked like and I wouls have probaly assumed the same thing. Lucypher, Im very sorry it took me so long to ship your crados pack but Im glad it arrived safely. Everyone has been taken care of and I have had several succesful trades and salea since the incident. If anyone has any questions, complaints or concerns feel free to message me. Thanks

I think it's funny how he's trying to turn this situation into Me, Viktor and Dodger having a grudge against him. He's trying to say that we aren't looking out for the community but trying to ruin his name. It's sad he can't just admit what he did without trying to throw some twist on it so he can get sympathy.

I just saw this thread. I think this is crazy first off, and second, I was at This D-Con in Pasadena with Travis (and others) when we met this "affiliated" guy. Both of them being in California, it only makes sense that they continue the conversation, so I didn't have any further communication, but I'm fairly confident that Travis did not make these card sets. And why is no one giving any credit to the conversation that Cory posted between Travis and a UG member? He is obviously skeptical himself. It's because he never followed through with telling everyone? I can definitely see where Travis went wrong on a couple things here, but you're really putting a man to the flames at high intensity for what seems like a giant misunderstanding. Not to mention, you've banned him so he can't respond? Travis is a member of multiple GPK groups on Facebook. He is aware of this situation and hasn't responded to anyone. He is unfriending anyone who messages him and reads the messages and doesn't respond. I know Travis is looked upon as a good person in this community but the truth is he lied to people and he knew what he was doing. Plain and simple. The evidence proves he knows he was selling fakes, even if he wasn't making them himself. Like I said earlier, actions speak louder then words.

If any of you are "really upset" and feel like you need to quickly distance yourself from this "bootleg set", I'll take your shame away for 20$ I just don't feel there is enough $$ involved in this to be a scam. If there is any real $$ to be made on a sticker scam, why wouldn't have Travis just sold all those P4 promo cards he got instead of GIVING them away. Or hell make bns c or art variant bootlegs and just sell one or two for equal $$. I could be totally wrong, but I feel this is a misunderstanding that hurt someone's pride and became a bigger deal than it really was/is. I don't think Travis was lied to in this situation, it's the exact opposite. He created a market for these sets saying there were only 50 made and he had 25 for sale. I don't see the point in lying about something like that. Not to mention if he would lie about something so small like that then what else would he lie about? Actions speak louder then words and right now his actions are screaming guilty..

I wonder why Travis changed his photo bucket setting to private all of a sudden? Like I said in my previous post, his actions are making him look very guilty.

I could be totally wrong, but I feel this is a misunderstanding that hurt someone's pride and became a bigger deal than it really was/is. Deceivng a collector for any amount of money is a scam in my eyes. The fact that the cards are bootlegs isn't the issue here. The issue is how they were presented to buyers. It certainly wasn't common knowledge that these cards were bootlegs. I want anyone with information about this good or bad to send it to me. If this is a huge misunderstanding, we need to tell that story. For example...if Travis told you they were unoffical bootlegs when he sold them to you, send me that info (with screen shot proof please). On the other hand, if he willing deceived you, I'd like to know that as well. I'm just looking for the facts from both sides here. I agree 100% Cory. Scamming a collector out of any amount of money is unacceptable. It's not just a small amount of money either, a lot of people are coming out saying they bought sets for $65-$75. He's sold over 50 sets so I guarantee he's cleared at least 2-3k off of this scam. Not to mention the people who we don't know who purchased sets as well. Anyone who has any doubt that this is true must be in denial. I run a GPK Facebook group (Garbage Pail Kids Foreign Market) and I was one of the groups this info was originally shared in. Travis is unfriending people who are contacting about this whole situation and not responding to any messages. The messages show that he read them but he is yet to respond. His actions alone prove his guilt IMO.
