One of my favorite newer concepts. I just had to commission Mark to create an actual painting of STAN Alive / Bee GENE!

I think that is just a sketch of it. There is a finally of it. Brent Engstrom painted it. I believe for a thirt. Good call AB! I looked up "Brent Engstrom Alien" and found this pic: Zoomed in pic of Woody Alien for comparison: Although not exactly the same pose you can def tell it's Engstrom's work.

Brent Engstrom painted it. I believe for a thirt. "Woody Alien" Jimbo posted that pic in his collection thread for the 2008 Puerquitos Kids album de Colombia. Maybe one day someone will list some Puerquitos singles on ebay and u can grab that card. Would be cool to find out the name of the artist. There's more pics of the album here: garbagepailkids.proboards.com/thread/9096/jimbos-collection?page=13Yeah, that is one badass card. Puts the newer Alien one that they made recently to shame. The new version is too childish and friendly in appearance while the one from the Puerquitos looks more menacing. I so want that card!

Share the pictures please. There has been some recent new developments I'm told. On a Facebook group or something? (Don't use FB) I was told that some dude involved with creating the banner and names for the Bukimi Kun cards has been talking on there? He also posted pictures of open packs and a test sheet, that my friend showed me. This is all very exciting

I liked the Martian as well. There are a few good space movies in recent years if you haven't yet watched them all. Intersteller, The Martian, Gravity. I'll watch those again at some point and in that order. Kind of like: going to space, leaving space, and landing

That's what can happen when you go to the South side of Chicago. I saw a stabbing scene about two blocks from the hotel .. Crazy stuff!

Deep Dish Pizza: Giordono's - 135 E Lake St, Chicago IL 60601 or Uno's (I would however suggest going diagonally across the street to Due's, as that location is less busy, exact same restaurant/food, just not the 'original' location which isn't really a big deal at all) Due's - 619 N Wabash Ave, Chicago IL 60611
The wait is LONG! (45min-1hr) No reservations accepted, when you arrive you place your order, then ~45min later you get your table, then drinks/other food, then Pizza! Both are good.
If everyone gives me or cory their hotel locations I can try and figure out possible good locations.
If you have any Chicago questions let me know.

Awesome! It will be great to see you there Mark!
Also of Note: The deadline for applying for a Fan Table is approaching. Nobody has shown any interest yet!!
The Table costs nothing, comes with 3 free tickets, a place where we can gather, Show off GPKs to get others interested, we can let others know there is a GPK artist at Artist's Alley!, any other ideas?
At least one person would need to be at the table during the show, we are not allowed to sell anything,

Guys I need some info. What airport would I land at in Chicago? I flew into O'Hare when I went last year. I think that is closest. You can fly to O'Hare (ORD) or to Midway (MDW) Either work easy. O'Hare to downtown you can take the "L" Blue Line CTA train $5, ~1hr or Midway to downtown Orange Line $2.50, ~45min Both trains/subways start/end at the airports. Midway has more flights with Southwest and Delta and other low cost carriers. Midway is slightly closer than O'Hare. I'd go with whichever flight is cheapest. You could rent a car too, but using the 'L' is easy and you can buy a 3 day pass, $20 If you have any other questions feel free to ask or PM.

These are really bad. They should have been rejected and assigned to someone else. I agree!! I did a quick general ranking of all art from this set. As there are 75 cards, I put them into 5 categories (15 each) 4 of 5 pictures you posted are easily in Ugliest category! Its not easy picking what card is the ugliest. Going thru the cards I was able to figure out generally how I rank GPK. Most important to least: Looks like a CPK / GPK Art style Concept sometimes a concept is so funny, mean, gross that it might trump the art style. but generally that's what I noticed when ranking the cards. On a high note. I do have a lot of favorites.

I love the new artwork! I like the video and seeing how you bring these paintings to life. Would it possible for you to do a photo time lapse to see the work in progress to final? I think that would also be cool.

I didn't receive any responses yet. I did however, misread the deadline which is actually February 14, so we have one month to come up with ideas and organize this if anyone else is interested. Would anyone that is attending be interested in the UG maybe trying to get a Fan Group Booth at C2E2? The deadline is tomorrow 1/14 5pm www.c2e2.com/The-Floor/Fan-Group-Booth-Application/We would officially need at least one representative to be at the table at all times Fri 10a-7p, Sat 10a-7p, Sun 10a-5p (we get 2 chairs, and 4 badges) I think this would make for a great base for those of us going. We could try and get more members, we can spread the word that GPK are still being printed, we can help bring back the 80s, it might persuade Topps to follow through with their promo card offer, It could be a way to showcase a few rare GPK items, it could be a good base for Garbage 30 to do some filming, hopefully some artists come and could randomly stop by, a small location to try out the GPK card game and French board game, or other fan made MTG-type games, We could show the GPK movie/cartoon, etc. I think it could be a good opportunity to reach more collectors and to make others more aware. What do you think? Could you commit to some time at the table? Comments/Suggestions?

Everyone is looking for OS Pound pieces now that I've sold all my extras. This is a great collection. Obviously the OS7 is great, but I love Wheel Barry too. Love the very CPK looking Mothy Martha from OS14 too. The OS12 is great as well. Thanks for sharing. I'd love to make a UG Art thread and list pictures and the owners of all pieces owned by UG members. That is a pipe dream but would be awesome. Around 37% of current Final owners are posted on the UG, at least back in Feb 2013.

59th Philly Non-Sports Card Show!!The Next BIG GPK Event is in a couple of weeks, Sept 21 & 22nd.
There is still time to plan and go. I just bought my flight and hotel today. phillynon-sportscardshow.com/general-show-information/Brent Engstrom is one of the featured artists! It is also confirmed that Joe Simko will be there with Wax Eye. Along with reps from Topps! There is going to be a special NSU Card Talk/GPK Session!!!nsucardtalk0913.eventbrite.com/Looks like there is only 1 ticket left to the session. Here is the description:NSU Card Talk Members and Guests~ Come to the NSU Card Talk Member Gathering at the September 2013 Philly Non-Sports Card Show. The member gathering will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn (1787-B Airport Rd, Allentown, PA 18109), our host Hotel. During this show's NSU Card Talk member gathering, the panel will spotlight Garbage Pail Kids including new product news. Topps will touch on Garbage Pail Kids Chrome and show previews from upcoming sets. In the works is a top-secret video preview with some limited giveaways. Also on-hand to talk about their involvement in the various projects will be GPK artists Brent Engstrom and Joe Simko.Light refreshments will be served including coffee, donuts, and bagels. As usual, we'll discuss what's new with NSU at the start and offer up a few prizes at the close of the meeting. All registered Card Talk members (registered as of August 1, 2013) will be eligible to win any prizes we have. To keep things fair, once we give away a prize to one family member, husband/wife, etc. that will take that group out of the running for any other prizes. The gathering will start at 8:15 on Sunday, September 22 and will last approximately one hour. We invite all Card Talk members (and their guests) attending the show to come to the gathering. Space will be limited and there is no cost to sign up. Please only sign-up if you can make it, though, as we hate to turn anyone away and then have empty seats. When signing up, be sure to supply your "real" name and forum ID for each person you are RSVP'ing for (guests are welcome too - please be sure to supply guests full name for the name badges). The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, September 11, or while space permits. See you there!
