I don't blame you...Imo the Selma piece was done superbly and should be considered one of the best GPK pieces ever done. People always want official but when it's officially done it doesn't matter! If I do sell the rough you'll be the first to know. Congrats!

It all boils down to money, chrome is more expensive to make compared to the online sets. Why pay more to make quality cards when they can make thin non appealing cards at a better profit.

The sate of GPK is alive, at the same time it is a morass of frustration and disappointment mixed in with hope...hope of hitting that hot pack! I think that's why a lot of new folks go buy this new stuff...the dream of hitting a hot pack.
As far as how I collect, simple, I buy what I like and what I can afford. When making a purchase I don't think of it as an investment rather a compliment to my personality, this keeps collecting fun for me. At this time my attention is on chrome, a lot of people dislike chrome but as circumstance has it anything that blings catches my attention.
Another part of collecting for me is foreign cards. I have favorite characters that I started a rainbow with so I could collect and enjoy foreign cards without having to collect the whole set.

Luis, I agree on what you're saying. If you love the art you wont just buy as an investment but as something you admire and love to look at everyday, price would be no problem! There is one thing that kinda bothers me in the sets that most of the artist produce...not risky enough. I know not everyone agrees with me but I would love to see more sex and drugs. I really think if you make a parody of whats happening in the hood you would be selling like hot cakes...though I'm a bit biased!

I read the interview, it was a great Q and A. Cory, Im sure he had to keep it kosher with the question, start giving him the third degree and he probably wouldn't have replied. If i could point out one thing...thinner card stock. The watcher makes a good point, why are they producing gpk with thinner card stock?

I know this has been brought up already but really wish it was easier to post pictures. I've been real active on FB with trades and sales but would love to be active with the collection thread without going through a diffrent server to load pictures here.

1)Would you buy or support a set of cards outside of the "official" name brand stuff by former artists of GPKs?
Hell Ya!
2) If so what do you expect from such a series? What kind of art requirements? Other things like Bonus Cards? Sketch Cards? Signed cards?
Art would have to resemble the original CPK dolls with strict attention to detail. Edgy and funny concepts without a cartoon feel. I don't mind bonus cards that stray a bit from the normal "CPK look" to give the artist his own spin on GPK. Sketch Cards a must, not so much on the autos.
3) How important is the design and/or packaging? Does it have to resemble the "official" stuff?
I don't care if it resembles the originals but if you do wax I'm balls deep!
4) How many cards in a set?
If you do the A and B 10-20 characters.
5) Does something "not official" turn you off? What constitutes something that is official? Is it solely based on a product by a company you know?
It gots to be official! For a set like this to work I think that the actual story needs to be told of its conception from all artist on board. 6) How much is nostalgia a part of your decision? How much of it is just name recognition and the fact that other fans are collecting the set?
I think if the story is good the nestalgia would definitely play a part. As far as others collecting I don't mind if they do or don't but it's always fun trading and meting new collectors.
7) Would you be willing to fund such a set if a Kickstarter or some other crowd source system was in place?
It's a possibility.
