I have a bunch of these pieces by Dustin Graham. He did most of these for me before he started working for Topps. They measure about 13x13 inches or so. The only one I have framed is Formalde Heidi. The rest are stored in tubes. I will eventually frame them all one day. I randomly opened one of the tubes tonight and this is what was in there... Nice, you discovered the artist before Topps! That's a solid way to go for an art collector!! I wish I would have discovered Banksy before everyone else....just sayin'!

Well it took quite some time but I was finally able to add the Adam Bomb Color Rough to my collection. Before deciding to make this purchase I talked with Mr. Pound via email. I was curious why it was so different from other color roughs. This is what he had to say about this piece: Hi Adam,
Thanks for writing, and for the pictures. I was wondering what happened to the Adam Bomb color rough. (Many collectors have asked if this is still available, but I say no, it was the first to go. Little did I realize how popular it would be.) From your various photos that appears to be the real thing, with the right date of purchase and details.
I did the Series One GPKs with a less structured process than I used on all my later GPKs. So, the varied pencils on that page I would call layout sketches (or thumbnail poses). I did several, trying to get the feel for the best pose and figure details.
I did a tight pencil artwork on the same bristol board paper as I did my final art painting, so a separate tight pencil art does not exist for this one, and I don't seem to have a xerox copy of it. Likewise, to do my color rough, I believe I decided on using the best pose on this page as my drawing to color, rather than make a trip to the copy store. I added the labels above and below the color rough, so that it would be clear to others what this was.
I did not start doing Certificates of Authenticity until a few years later. Hang on to the FEDEX label and the post-it, as they help authenticate the color rough. Plus the chain of ownership ("provenance") is helpful.
Best, --JohnThanks for looking guys.

Wow!!! That's one heck of an addition! Thanks for posting the pics and the info, always fun to hear what life as a gpk artist was like back in the day.

Best, --JohnThanks for looking guys. Not a good looking rough but there is a ton of history on that piece of paper. It's interesting to see how much Adam went through. This is definitely an upgrade.

What a lucky guy you are jimbo. Pound dident know it at that time but it turned out to be the most iconic card and the face of gpk. Major congrats.
So if i understand correctly from pound his comments there is no pencil art for this piece? So only the color and final Like the os 2 rappin ron piece.

I'm super pleased you brought it back into the fold! From what I heard, this thing basically went off the radar a few years back. Great win all around, both for you to own this awesome piece of history and for all GPK collectors to know where to see it and know it's being cared for. Great stuff!

Thanks guys. I'm happy to have this one. I may eventually re-frame it without the cards but I am not in a rush to do that right now.
I did ask Mr. Pound about the possibility of getting a COA eventually. I haven't heard back but I imagine that he'd have to see it in person, etc. I'm not too concerned about it because it came with some other documents (hand written note from Mr. Pound and a Fedex label from Pound to the first owner).

Hey Adam,
I spoke to him a few days ago and he told me he's suspended online sales until the end of September so he can catch up on work. So, I'd be surprised if he's even checking email very much at the moment. It'd be cool if you sent it to him for a COA! I bet he'd love to see it again anyhow...maybe.

Best, --JohnThanks for looking guys. While looking through Pound's sold roughs I saw that he again employed the same color rough approach to another Adam Bomb version--OS7, Adam Boom. I didn't see anywhere else where he did this approach other than Adam Bomb and Adam Boom. I'm baffled. Sorry for the tiny picture, it's what was on Pound's site.

Jimbo, do you have any info on these? I don't think I've seen that Woody Alien card before. Was original art produced for this release?

Jimbo, do you have any info on these? I don't think I've seen that Woody Alien card before. Was original art produced for this release? Well really not much is known about this set/release. It came out in approx. 2007-2008 and is marked as "World Play, a Japan Company." From what I am told, it was released in Colombia in the cities Bogota and Medellin, maybe Cali. The album is small. The stickers are even smaller. I will post another pic to show the size later. I don't think I have seen the Woody Alien card either, but I am not up on all the newer GPK releases. None of the stickers that are in the album I have are from OS. I think they are mostly ANS. I don't know anything about how the stickers were packaged. People tell me that usually the albums are given out for free and then kids buy the stickers to try to finish off the album. That's really all I know.

Love your collection Jimbo. As for that album, all those in that pic are from the All-New Series line, minus Woody Alien. That is completely new. Would be awesome to find the cards as a stand alone. Would love to have them but am sure everyone else would too.
