with the recent discovery of 6 sealed packs of uk garbage gang cheap toy candy we can finally take a look at any differences.
comparing it to uk gpk cheap toy candy packs the GG candy pieces are slightly smaller in diamater but slightly thicker, the colours are not as bright but this could be due to fading. but the most noticable difference is that on the uk gpk candy pieces 1 side has a characters name printed on and the other side has garbage pail kids printed on. i was expecting that maybe they would replace the garbage pail kids with garbage gang but instead of doing that they have just removed it and left 1 side blank.

Great information Rob!!! Too bad those packs weren't really sealed, just opened and reclosed... Come on, we all know that you tasted a little corner of a Garbage Gang Crummy Candy.. ...what did it taste like? Garbage?

Hey I hope you don't mind me jumping in - I distinctly remember when the cheap toys came out in the UK and the candy, at least some of it, was shaped like fish & bones. When i rediscovered my CT's in a box of lego I even had a fish shaped candy stuck to the GPK check list( I had two check lists - one saying GPK and the other said GG, both UK).

That's very interesting. I have some of the original UK GG candy still in the bag and it is definately round, not shaped. Maybe they produced 2 different types? Very strange.

Mine was round also, but I believe I threw it away years ago because it looked the same as the US (or I tried to eat it I don't remember) My unopened pack is buried deep in a trunk and would be a pain in the ass to get out. I'm pretty sure I would have kept the candy if it was different... maybe one day I'll pull it out and confirm... but I'm lazy. EDIT: see how lazy I am? I didn't even read the rest of the thread... My UK CT pack is a Garbage Pail Kids, not a Garbage Gang, so my info is irrelevant... oops and oh well.

Like I said it's buried and I'm lazy lol...I'd have to feel around to check the candy because I'm not opening it. I can scan the empty wrapper I have I guess if you want to see that I'll take a look at that thread and if I get to scanning things I will get that in also.

Hey guys, would anybody know how much a sealed/full box of Garbage Gang CheapToys would be worth? I'm assuming due to the rarity that anything goes with regards to the price?

No definite price...it would be worth whatever a collector was willing to shell out

Hey guys, would anybody know how much a sealed/full box of Garbage Gang CheapToys would be worth? I'm assuming due to the rarity that anything goes with regards to the price? No set price and you can ask any price you want, but it doesn't necessarily mean you will get that price. Getting a good price depends on a few factors for a US box. 1. Are there rares or commons in the box. Either of those factors will help or hurt your sale. A box of commons will probably bring anywhere's from $250-$375. Rares can up your price. 2. A box that is and looks unsearched and is in very good to excellent condition. If the box looks searched most people will stay away. I would! 3.Having a collector ( or collectors )who has the money and is looking for one. Now on a Garbage Gang box you will have tons of intereste due to rarty. (I haven't heard of any) But still be realistic. It has to be a price collectors will think is fair. That Novo Megan that popped up on Ebay has yet to sell because most think the seller is greedy and nuts. You can ask whay you want but you may not get it.

That's one you put on eBay straight auction. Big money for sure! The box alone...

I agree with Keir up there ^^^ Start it at .99 cents, 7 day auction. You'll get whatever the highest bidder is willing to pay, and if its factory sealed!! I would say gold mine!!!

We used to get them when I was a kid as I convinced my parents that we should sell them in our old pub. I remember going to the wholesalers with my mum and seeing whole pallets with them on. I used to keep the empty boxes to store junk in so nect time im at my mum and dads i'll check to see if i have any boxes left over. In hindsight I wish I'd kept a few full ones but you don't think of that when your a kid. I think I took most of them to school and sold the packs out of my school bag. Funny thing though - I never remember seeing cinnamons when I was younger. I would've thought id kept one or two.

I used to buy cheap toys in the UK when i was a kid. I only collected GPK stuff in 1985 and 1986. We had series 1-6 and then it stopped and became Garbage Gang. I never bought anything GG. I actually don't think i got any series 6 packs either i had moved on by then. So in my memory Cheap Toys must have been between series 3 and 5. The Cheap Toys i bought i vividly remember saying Garbage Pail Kids on the bag. I wouldn't have bought them if they said Garbage Gang. I remember hating the name change and like many brit kids, didn't bother with it once it changed.

The GG CT defiantly came out in about 1991. I remember buying them from the shops.
I also remember buying UK garbage pail kids CT around 1986.

To my knowledge there isn't even a GG unopened pack let alone a full box. I thought I had scored an epic 6 sealed packs last summer from a guy in the UK but found they were opened when I got them. Guy must have opened them nicely as a kid, then tied the twist tie back on and thought they were still sealed when he refound them. Anyway, I know of none, and only a few empty boxes exist. Would LOVE to see a full one found though. There's gotta be some dusty, dirty, long forgotten magic wharehouse someplace on this planet with a case of them just rotting away on a pallet. Same has gotta go for series 2's. Now that would be the day!!!!

It's gotta be the rarest GPK box there is. The price would make OS 1 boxes look "cheap"
