When I first started on this message board I thought that OS2 was my favorite series. Mainly because I could refer to stories others told in the '1980 GPK drama' thread. The feeling of owning Brett Sweat as a kid, was something easy to relate to.
After reading some more, I found out some members had the opinion that OS4 was a pretty weak serie. I feel really different. Especially 'Bony Tony' (and the puzzle)& 'Ig Lou', but also 'No way Jose' and 'Max Axe'are some of my favorite cards.
The Bony Tony puzzle backs with this basic blue & red and this green border makes it look like a card that's from the 70's instead the 80's. With these collors it could be even a Sovjet card. But that's maybe my twisted mind (ask Rusvan, we once had a situation with little Japanese boys...)
Anyways; I thought it was time to start a OS4 appreciation thread. So if you feel the same, telll me which cards are your favorite. You can only pick 4! (if it would have been 5, I would have mentioned Turned on Tara as well, but rules are rules, we stop at 4)

There a lot of boring cards too. There are probably only 5-7 cards that I'd classify as an 8 or above on a 10 point scale. Here are my 4 faves: Max Axe is my fave from OS4 Reese Pieces is awesome Bony Tony of course Shorned Sean

Fugg that. OS6 is top 5 material. Lots of cool stuff in there. i'll never understand. It is the middle joint part of the leg of a black and yellow flying insect whose sole purpose is to pollenate flowers.

besides Dyna Mike, there aren't any iconic ones in the series. I guess it's just a difference of taste, but i just don't see it.

Some part makes really sense of what you say Cory, for example Hank E. Panky - Furry Murray - Swollen Sue Ellen - Ashley Can - are indeed pretty boring. But Bony Tony (and many others) really overshadow these 'weaker' cards in my opinion.
I might invite Bony Tony & Max Axe for diner soon, they should know they are really appreciated!!!

hmmm No cards really stand out to me in the 4th series.
JK. Actually my 1st and 2nd all time favorite GPKs come from this series, Bony Tony and Shorned Sean. Max Axe is also up there and I always liked Yicchy Mickey as a kid. The 4th series was also when I hit the peak of GPK collecting as a kid. I started collecting when the second series came out and by the time the 4th series came out I was at the peak and then started to fizz out around the 7th series.
1. Bony Tony 2. Shorned Sean 3. Max Axe 4. Yicchy Mickey/Reese Pieces

GB and Everyone,
I'll start off by saying I like EVERY Series 1-15 piece. I like some ANS pieces but they really don't have the same feel; this may be due to the lawsuit (changes in features) or just because, you can only paint so many GPK ideas!
At any rate, Series 1-6 are easily the best. Myself, I am a fan of Series 4. An opinion is an opinion but c'mon, to say it's a bad set? Compare that set to any Series 7-15 cards...no way are they better then Series 4. Again, I like EVERY Series 1-15 piece but the higher you go, the more clutter you see. Too busy...too many things going on...didn't GPK's start off with simplicity? My personal favorite is Series 1 but I feel that Series 2 is the best.
Whisperin' Woody, Jack O Lantern, Holly Wood and Teddy Bear...add those to the list of 10-15 good pieces that have already been mentioned.
Take care, Peter

The ones I enjoy looking at the most are: Trashed Tracy Bony Tony Hip Kip Max Axe Ig Lou Shorned Sean Teddy Bear ...but sadly there is just too many 'meh' cards sprinkled throughout, like: 4-Eyed Ida Horny Hal Mouth Phil Tiffany Lamp As for OS6...I could look at Sherwood Forrest all day long:

Put that card #15 (instead of #1) in the series and you aren't talking about it right now. Also, it gets more love than normal because of the error thing. It's a good card but I wouldn't classify it as great. It's a great filler card though.

It's a stunner, I'd to see the final!

It's a stunner, I'd to see the final! You'd think that, but it's not the case. The top card always seems to get a lot more interest in the art game too. The artwork for most of the top cards holds more value too. Some of the later series aren't like that though.

No one has said anything about ALIEN IAN, I love this card, OK he doesn't look like a CPK but its an awesome card with great colors. I would for the final art on that bad boy.

I think the Mars Attacks parody was lost on a lot of people. Because 1) Mars Attacks wasn't popular with kids (aka past it's prime) and 2) Mars Attacks is pretty lame overall. The card looks great, it's just the concept is a little iffy if you either don't hate or don't like Mars Attacks. Speaking of Mars Attacks did anyone watch the movie? So fuggin horrible. One of the worst things I've ever seen. For a movie to have so many big names it was pathetic.

McFly's last onscreen movie role, so it's sad that it had to come in such a shitty movie. (he did voiceover for Stuart Little - but that don't count!)

Mars Attacks and Interstate 60 were basically cameos. Also, 'The Frighteners' was awesome. ;D

I watched it last year after not seeing it for a while and was surprised at how dark parts of that plot were! I never really got into Spin City either - but the few I caught here and there seemed ok.

Yeah that movie was so fun to watch. The plot was dark yet lighthearted at the same time. I really want the director's cut to come out on Blu-Ray. It came out on HD-DVD. Figures Universal would back the losing format. Special Agent Damers was insane. The switchblade schythe the Reaper had was pretty fuggin awesome too. Also the special effects were top notch for a film that only had a $26m budget. A lot of people don't realize that Peter Jackson (LOTR & King Kong) wrote and directed that movie. How do I tie this into OS4 now.......Uhhh the Grim Reaper was a shitty weaksauce GPK in OS3 so that doesn't work. There wasn't a ghost GPK until the terrible one in ANS7. Head exploding happened in OS6 with the wonderful Dyna Mike. Formalde Heidi was in OS4 which kinda reminds me of something that could be in a Re-Animator movie that starred the actor that played Special Agent Damers. I guess that works.
