Thread of ultimate nostalgia!
My parents and my friend's dad would buy me a few packs of GPKs whenever they went to the local country convenience store. There were two stores actually out in the middle of nowhere that sold them. One of them was converted into a house, now it's a little flea market. The other one might not even be standing anymore and if it is, it's surely dilapidated and covered in weeds.
I might be able to snap come pics of them this weekend.
Anybody else have good memories of local mom n' pop stores that sold this smut?

Anybody else have good memories of local mom n' pop stores that sold this smut? I can't find a photo, but I can clearly remember the main store that I bought my GPKs from. It was a pharmacy called "Neustat Drugs" that was in a strip mall. The anchor store was a Grand Union, and Neustat Drugs was right next door to it. I remember the GPKs were displayed in with the candy bars in front of the check-out counter. I can still remember to this day the excitement of finding them in stock. And I can remember the wonder of opening them and looking through the cards. It's a feeling I haven't been able to replicate in my adulthood.

Hooks and Reese's. Hooks is a automotive store now. Reese's was turned into a Dr. Clinic. $.25 cents a pack, the good old days. I only remember buying Series 3,4, and 10. I started back collecting when I saw ANS1 in stores.

I'm with you guys, so excited when they were in stock. I could only ever get my hands on 3rd, 4th, 10th, a couple packs of 11th and tons of non-diecut 15th. The bulk of my original collection consists of those series. Here's the old dilapidated, closed up store that I occasionally got them from, though they were almost always out of stock here:

Here's the "store" I got most of my GPKs from, started out as Hartness Grocery, then later changed to Smith's, then converted into a house and now I think it's a flea market:
