I completed the survey. It definitely is a cool statue, but it will most likely be out of my price range.

The fifth sample picture has a description that reads "Art Spiegelman chose this illustration as the first of the 'Garnage Pail Kids' to be painted..." Damn Topps and their QC department. If they can't even get the name "Garbage Pail Kids" correct, I don't trust them with a detailed figure.

Don't like how the skin fragments are molded into the mushroom cloud. For a high-end statue I would expect the bits of skin/skull to be attached by thin rigid wires to create the illusion of being suspended above Adam's head.

Hey, do you guys remember this statue that was in the works? There was a survey we were asked to respond to, and some of us thought it would be too expensive. Anyway, I saw on the World Wide Web yesterday that it is probably dead in the water: "Although we would have loved to offer a statue, as originally planned, a cost explosion of Adam Bomb proportions would have run up the retail cost of the collectible to somewhere between $400 and $500." blog.hobbydb.com/2019/04/15/geepeekay-and-hobbydb-team-up-for-garbage-pail-kids-exclusive/But apparently they are releasing a different GPK collectible. They are being tight-lipped about it, but they promise a big reveal on their website tomorrow morning. Any guesses on what it could be? I hope it's a competing GPK-branded energy drink!

They are being tight-lipped about it, but they promise a big reveal on their website tomorrow morning. Any guesses on what it could be? I hope it's a competing GPK-branded energy drink! The company that was going to make that Adam Bomb statue has announced a different collectible instead, and at first blush it seems very f**ked up (in a bad way): blog.hobbydb.com/2019/04/17/geepeekay-and-hobbydb-introduce-adam-bomb-limited-edition-art-by-john-pound-sticker-card/This company wants to create an archive of all GPK cards ever released, and also include "card values, collection management/wish list features, and a marketplace". So in essence, it seems like they want to become the 'Facebook of GPK'. I will offer my feelings on such an archive later (spoiler alert: I'm suspicious of it), but what this company is also doing is releasing a series of offiicially-licensed GPK cards, and requiring collectors to *do work in putting together the archive* just to have the privilege of BUYING the cards!: "To craft the most complete Garbage Pail Kids’ archive, we’re asking for your help and feedback about our features. In short, we’re going to ask you to be more of a Handy Andy than a Lazy Louie in order to obtain this exclusive set. The six cards will be available by unlocking levels pertaining to the Garbage Pail Kids database. Each Wednesday we’ll offer an opportunity to buy the next card in the series, along with another task to obtain it. As the challenges rise, so, too, does the rarity of the cards." So it seems like they want collectors to pay them money and also be a free labor source for putting together their archive. In return the collectors will get a few shiny baubles. This seems like a huge scam to me.
