in case you haven't noticed, one of the largest websites to support 3ed party hosting has eliminated this FREE feature for many years and now charges 400 bucks a YEAR! No warning to members by the way...they suck! leaving MILLIONS of pics around the internet with the stupid error pic. Any idea what to do now for hosting pics?

This is my first time hearing about it. Most of the images on this forum are Photobucket.

Im reading alot of forums on this, it seems they be hitting the biggest users first, but eventually everyone will be hit, you HAVE to pay $400 to host.

So, to start this off.... YES I am upset about this.
... But my God people it was FREE for years, and now they want to charge for it. Society feels owed this same service free forever? We should be more like saying thank you for giving it to us free for years.
And yes all my photos are on there so I will figure out something else.

Yes, BUT.. have you thought about all the people out there that use this service to help others, people who knowing it was free spent hundreds of hours making forums to help people with issues or just entertainment and now there pics are all gone. If they cant pay the 400 bucks, all there time and LOVE is gone......its not right. It was without any warning. I'm sorry I dont agree, they CAN do whatever they like but treating people good is more IMPORTANT. Many Many people haven't even gotten assess to there pics without paying, read the forums, many people are hurt and upset. and just young guys like us who use this for fun. Some people devote much of there time to helping people that no longer have pics. Not a company I would be proud of.

I can understand charging, but the price is too high. I only have 1GB of pics on there, the majority of them are linked here and run everything from banners to emoticons. $400 is too much for a guy like me. I'd gladly pay $60 to not have to migrate all of my pics to something else.

I'm a cheapskate lol I know folks are mad, but I'm shocked with the sheer amount of data that they hadn't resorted to this sooner.

It is not really free. They put their ads all over those pages. I'm sure they were making some money.
It's fine if they need to start charging, but maybe give people some warning? $400 is way too high also.

So my PhotoSuckIt still works. Who knows for how much longer. But I just went in and downloaded all my photos in case they try to make me pay for them. If you still have access try this... Log into photobucket, click on 'Library' and then on the right and hide click 'Download Album' This worked on the computer. I am not sure if it works on a phone or iPad.

I did this a couple of days ago. It won't export .gifs or videos though. It's a bummer to have to save all the gifs I have individually.

best alternative for photobucket? Imgur is the standard on Reddit forums, so it's safe to assume it will always be free for personal use. After uploading an image, click on it to view a list of link options allowing you to embed the image using various internet formats. The option that works best with GPKUG is "Direct Link" which copies the Imgur-assigned URL address and adds the file format.

can't figure out how to get imgur images to appear in my eBay listing Imgur is intended for non-commercial use but you may be able to get logos and photos that are not related to the item you're selling to show up without being hassled by eBay or Imgur. Use the Imgur "HTML" link. Here's an example of the code I use to display a YouTube logo in my listings: <img src="http://i.imgur.com/tJfyDIL.png/collectibles-workshop-youtube-channel.png" alt="YouTube" border=0> Which renders as this image:
