Every time I look at a member's profile, I tend to see the same general birth years. Since I don't seem to be able to spark up much GPK talk on my other hangout site, Tradingcarddb.com, I started to wonder if GPK collectors were typically restricted to certain generational age group. So here's a multiple-choice question. What age group below do you belong to?
A. 1969 or before
B. 1970-1974
C. 1975-1979
D. 1980-1984
E.. 1985 or later
I choose C.

C for me. I'd say 1973 - 1978 would be the majority of the collectors. During it's peak in 1986 you'd be talking about 12-7 year-old kids. That was the target. There will be outliers, but we are basically all in our 40's or getting ready to turn 40 now.

I agree , Definitely the target age. I had a little corner store A few doors down from me my best friends grand pa , who had them so i had regular access. Without that store who knows if I would even know them. I was 5 ,6 , 7 , but I have met Alota people that are 36 , 37. But like Cory said either 40s or soon to be. NOT TO SOON !!!!!! Few more for me 😁

Very few things were marketed specifically to this age group due to it's very small demographic.

I'm not so sure that the target age group was the most influenced age group, so I set up another question on the "everything else" forum. So far, we have 6-C's and 2-D's on the question here.

C here too. This makes me wonder whether the "value" of the OS will hold as our collections get complete (is that even possible?). I've been watching sale prices go up and up and up since I got back into gpk almost 10 years ago but I gotta imagine that at some point it'll stop, especially if it's primarliy "our" generation that's paying attention to them. What do you guys think will happen to the prices as demand dries up?

I know 2 of my buddies here were born in the 80's but didn't participate in the Survey.

C-1977. So far Ping is the youngest. The next question would be, what younger people got into it because their older sibling was collecting.
