I made a new thread for this as it's not just a normal piece of GPK fan art, plus I plan to do more of these. I finally put down my pencils and picked up a paint brush. The GPK below is what I painted and I think it turned out really well for a first try! I call him Moultin' Milton.

Thanks! I spent longer on this next one than I ever have on any of my GPK art before. She's called Cryin' Krysten / Crystal Bawl.

Get yourself a nice Winsor & Newton Series 7 #1 or 2 brushes. Expensive, but... ...if you don't let the paint dry on the brush it will last you a year or 2. They also are the best at keeping a nice shape and brush tip. Wouldn't use anyting else for small paintings. Also buy the ceap craft paints. I started using those before I got into liquitex and that stuff. All I can say to make these paintings better is to make more darker and lighter areas around the face and arms. Try copying a good full figure Pound. Try to make it as close as possible. I wouldn't waste time on drawing it. Painting is different from drawing and an art of it's own. Copy/Trace the art you want to learn to paint not draw. so that way when you make mistakes they are painting mistakes not drawing mistakes. Having both can make you want to cut off a gnad. Then when you gt that down draw it and paint it from scratch. When you got that down...make a GPK of your own that you have been doing. You will be 20x better.

Regular bristol board is good. Some gesso it others don't.
I paint straight on it.

Here's a painted version of one of my old GPK drawings, in fact it was the first I ever posted on the net. Thanks to Stinger for resizing the image for me. Here's Jack L. N. Hyde.

Glen,
Your style is similar to Series 1-2's...is that on purpose? Your personal feelings come out in your artwork.
Take care, Peter

Hi Peter. Yes, the paintings I've done so far are similar to series one and two, because I think they are the two best GPK series. I guess whatever you paint or draw your feelings will come out in it a little. Thanks for your comments.

I went out last week and bought some acrylic paints, a couple of new brushies and other new art stuff. Here's my first attempt with the acrylics. I might do some more detail with this one later, maybe put a window in under the character, but I just wanted to show you how I'm doing. This one is Icy Isaac.

I like this one. It would be cool to be a semi-close up GPK and you have the legs of a little kid on the side of him riding him. You should throw a saddle on there as well, that would be cool
