Wow, beautiful piece...superb! I can't believe I'm saying this but it's actually an improvement over Heidi (sorry Cory!), which speaks volume to the effort he put into this piece because Heidi is amazing. Great pickup, huge congrats! Great addition Raoul. I like that Pound changed the angle compared to the GPK. He changed it so much that he had to go landscape on it. It really makes it it's own thing. I prefer the colors and angle in the GPK piece more (and the expression on her face), but I love this Meanie Babies piece as well (I love almost all of the Meanie Babies, incredible set). I love that Pound liked this concept so much that he ripped it straight from the GPK set with not much of a change. The angle change did force him to move the "heart" frog off the character itself. It would have blocked too much if he kept on the character. I like that he kept the frog in the painting though. I think it's necessary because the frog on the lily pad proves the character is made of algae and is not a lily pad. I believe I brought up this card in the OS13 stand-offs when Heidi was listed. It deserved a shout-out then. When I bought my Meanie Babies piece, I initially wanted Swampy the Bear. It is a Sewer Sue clone and it was already purchased. I don't need Swampy anymore because I got the original source material. I'm perfectly content with Spritzer the Cobra.

I don't need Swampy anymore because I got the original source material. I'm perfectly content with Spritzer the Cobra. thanks Cory, i am really happy with it! interesting analysis...it's true, the frog's location had to changed because of scummy's angle, would have totally cut off his face and crowded the piece and i always thought heidi was a lily pad, cool insight into her! the lily pad is completely necessary, i never noticed that. scummy was one of the rare exceptions for me since i tend to shy away from landscape oriented pieces. i think the landscape really opens up the scene and helps hide him. the the tire and fish bones create a toxic scene, and feels like a warm/humid sunset/rise. heidis swamp scene always seemed very cool and clean to me. both are definitely unique, but cool to look at the similarities as well. here's a quick note from pound about the piece "There are some walking trails near here, by the water, and every time I see the plants (reeds and cat-tails) and sometimes algae or ducks on the water, I am reminded of this picture" you definitely snagged one of the top meanies and added an insane frame job to boot. i agree that i like almost every piece in there as well...tons of strong art and good puns my favorite at the moment is no brainer the camel, but that one's sold as well. ya swampy is one of my favs as well, no doubt that got snatched up very fast. haha you poor guy...had to settle for sewer sue

They're fantastic pieces. I think these are montages of the series if I'm not mistaken, but I'm certainly no expert on WPs. I've seen David Gross's versions of the montages and they're also great. A ton of details to look at!

A ton of details to look at! i think youre right, i've seen sketches with the greaser dude cutting the jello and a couple others. i definitely laugh whenever i see a good wacky sticker, but i only have a handful of cards. i have seen the gross, simko, and smokin joe montages...all awesome stuff

Right on! I wish GPK would do some of these types of montages. I've only seen them done on a couple of occasions (e.g., class picture) or more commonly as commissions. Oh well, I guess WP collectors get to have all the fun with these.

Good point about the Waldo one being similar...didn't think about that to be honest. Joe kept the final but thankfully, yet reluctantly, he let go of the pencil, for which I am very grateful. No color rough exists, sadly.
