Nice consistency. Consistency is king. Nice Ping Shrine too. thanks Cory! im not religious, but i do daily worship at the Ping shrine. and it only took me like four years to get the importance of framing consistency...much happier with the results.

I like complex frames too, but I feel they pull attention away from the real focal point.

It took me a while to get to the point of frame consistency and simplicity too. When the art speaks for itself, that's when true appreciation happens. I like complex frames too, but I feel they pull attention away from the real focal point. i have come to that conclusion finally as well. like you said, the art is gets to speak for itself. i have matted and rematted many times on some pieces. sometimes the mats really pop the art, other times it is hard to get it just right and the results are sub par. many members on here are real inspirations when it comes to frame ups, but i have real trouble it. minimalist framing and matting resolves that, and will make it easier to switch out pieces if the day ever comes. i framed the os art in an even more simple way...will post pics of those up soon

here's the os kids in their new frames. i have to give credit to buffmonster for the minimalist framing idea, i really like the simple frameups for my walls. still in the process of setting up, so this is not final for this wall. will try and clean up the beginning of the thread and post all individual pieces when i get a chance.

i reframed a bunch of art for consistency on the walls. starting with several of my favorite pieces from mark. i've been dreaming of this wall for some time! i love his bright gradient backgrounds with the neutral mats...like gpk gems. put the wade shade rough into the final's old frame. At first I was blown away by this epic setup, then I got worried for Mark. I started thinking about a situation like this: Mark Pingitore used to paint for a living. Now he's painting to stay alive! Check out Fowlery the new horror from Stephen King!!

I'm drooling over have a nice day. i am also becoming more of a fan of the white or grey mats. like you said, the color pop is amazing and keeps the framing simple. the green on HAND is so luminous and he looks great as the os centerpiece. thanks dude!

Beautiful frame ups and collection my friend. Love seeing how you kept everything the same size and same colors matt and frame. Really stunning thanks Stephan!! i am super happy with the results...especially sice it was much easier than trying to figure out mat combos. some of the pieces in my collection, i will keep with the color mats...but most im going in the minimalist direction.

Do you have the full signature set for Chrome 1? haha ya the jar kids are an alien... and an amazing snowglobe/sculpt of yeti eddie done by sean bolger! he does amazing work. i put it on the bottom shelf on the off chance there is an water leakage oh ya the sheet is a glossy os1 in a toploader with a cardboard back. i bought it a few years back, but ill probably end up selling it. haha ya it's just leaning there...any takers? and i went for a 41 card set on the chrome autos. some a's, some b's. i've heard of a couple dudes out there with full 110 card sets!! bowing down...even getting 41 was insanely difficult. would love to see an os2 set, i know of one guy that almost completed the full chrome 2 autos.
