Wallet pictures = I haven't had a picture in my wallet since Senior Year High School. And I'll be damned if this isn't the biggest rogue of a thread I've ever seen. Sorry Brent - looks like it's time to start a new one. Yeah they get all nasty and are a terrible to look at. My wife insists though. Maybe it's because I don't wear a wedding ring. I hate fuggin jewelry. I don't even wear a watch. that would be just like my boyfriend, not that he would ever want to get married no jewelry not even a watch....

Well I agree with you there I hate wearing watches too. I think these post should be moved to a new thread or deleted. Sorry Brent. What? We are so close to talking about the menstrual cycle and sculptures of aborted children. LOL, yeah this thread is going the way of "Autopsy Babies" and the classic 2007 smash hit "Merry Christmas or Happy holidays?" or who could forget the greatest derailing thread of ALL time "GPKC appreciation thread" That thread singlehandedly destroyed the GPKC and created the UG as we know it, those many moons ago....

I'd love to re-read that GPKC appreciation thread right now. I think I've forgotten everything that happened except for the end result.

Those same machines UKRob talked about are killing the Jewelry industry also, people with no skill or experience in jewelry are now able to pretend they know what they are talking about because of these CAD programs. Auckland is a small city but i know of three family jewelry business that have sold out recently to I.T. people, it was getting really difficult for them to make money in the middle market cause they all had the same programs. All you have to do is take you part A & put it with part B. The only way left to compete is on price or how cheap you can sell it for. We have survived by targeting people like Me, Rus ,Cory & you that want something handmade. With jewelry the cad produced stuff at the moment is still really sharp robotic looking crap so its really easy to spot the difference. To me technology is not at fault but the way businesses use technology to kill jobs instead of finding ways to create more jobs. It's really the way Super Capitalism has killed Democracy, but that's another topic. As far as when new technology comes out the untalented numskulls are the first ones to get their hands on it and later the more creative people jump on board and take over. It happened in 2-D digital art and 3-D as well. So in the future those same creative jewelers and next generation creative jewelry makers will take over that industry. Just wait and see.

I understand what your saying but I'm going to have my old fashioned jewelry making tools that haven't changed in hundreds of years in my hands creating handmade stuff till the day I die. I love getting my hands dirty on the real thing and it seems to be working real well for me I have won multiple awards and earn a good living doing what I enjoy. I guess I'm just a stubborn old man. Love your work LD ;D

So will I, but I won't hesitate tol use tools that will make it easier for me and more productive. It's like primitive man saying,"I'll stick to my way of cooking and you keep your stove". You pick and choose things along the way that helps you out. The old guys from back in the day would jump on it. Now I don't know the level of detail these new tools today bring so it might be some years.

I have read about many people that actually make more money by being less productive. Limited supply & high demand can equal big bucks. Lucky luxury brand bigwigs. I'm not suggesting you should cut supply though not at all.

I really like the red ink and esp the pencil ones. Esp the ones of the more obscure characters and all the aliens from Mos Eisley. Kind of makes me want to by a box even though I don't really collect any cards other than gpk. When do they come out?

If you click the link in my previous post you can see a lot more of my cards. There are some Darth Mauls in there. The tattoo on Jabba's arm is the symbol of his Hutt clan.

Hey guys, Just had to share this AWESOME sketch card Brent did for me!! There are no GPKs with the name Callie or Calliope, and I wanted to get some for my daughter. Without further ado, here is the first of my "Callie Collection": (I tried to link it right from Brent's blog, but for some reason the image wouldn't come up correctly. Anyway - he's got it up there too!)

Who thought up the Squid idea? I can't believe there's NO INK being shot out!! What a perfect opportunity! That would have been classic!!!! Still pretty good though.

Brent thought up the name & squid idea (they kinda go hand in hand!) The idea of ink being shot out is a good one, but I think it might take away from the overall feel of the card - nice, bright colors and overall very cute. I think it's the perfect first addition to my Callie Custom Card Collection!! And Brent - I TOTALLY dig it!! Thanks again!! ;D

If the Ink was done right it could be seriously cool and original, as far as GPK art goes. There is an octopus GPK already though . INK!!
