So is this new set just styled like the 70s and/or made after 70s only products? It sounds confusing. Also, it says Series 1 on the box and then in the chat bubble of the boy it refers to a Series 2 mini promo sticker. Does this mean a series 2 is already planned as well? Thanks for the information. This set is set up so it's almost like the 17th series of the original Wacky Packages (which ended at series 16). All the products are from the 1970s in their 1970s packaging. The stickers will have the same look as the original stickers (no numbering, no gloss, white backs), instead of checklists, puzzles and other things on the backs it will have separate 9 piece puzzle / checklists. The wrapper and box are designed to look like original series versions (with the new images) and you get a ton of extra items with each box. To make this even clearer, if this was a GPK set it would be all new designs in the original GPK Pound style with the wrapper, logo, boxes, backs echoing the originals (with all new art of course).

I'd love to see Topps go back to the CPK style and wax packs. Doubt that'd ever happen though. This is a good idea for the WP as well. At least for the old school collectors that remember that specific packaging. ;D

A GPK throwback would be great. I think the lawsuit would be the biggest headache. Depends on how far Topps would want to push it.

I've never looked into any specifics of the lawsuit, but do you think it would still apply now that CPK are not really very popular?

I don't think popularity will be in play for a standing judgment. CPKs are still around. If they were no longer being made I'd think there would some grounds.

I picked up 3 boxes basicly to see how sketch cards translate to WPs.... How did Jay draw 3600 cards? Also, is 3600 a short print run? What are the normal size of print runs?

3650 is an insanely low run. Retail store sales are more like high 5 digits or even 6.

Has there been a delay in the production run? On the Topps online site it still says coming soon. I keep checking everyday but no date yet.

Should be soon. Jay is just finishing up the sketch cards. They can't pack the boxes without all of them done.

How can we order the Wacky Packages? Or is it too late? No, you can order the WP when they go live at the Topps Online Store sometime in the next few weeks. Should be around the 10th/ 11th or the next week.

Yeah, Betty is the tomboy while Veronica is the sophisticated babe. It would be a GPK gal without some thickness!
